AEW 3 Wrestlers Who Must Win At Full Gear This Weekend
This Saturday, AEW is having their yearly show, “Full Gear.” This year’s “Full Gear” event will be headlined by a number of big matches. Arguably, the biggest one is Kenny Omega taking on “Hangman” Adam Page for the AEW World Championship. There are three wrestlers who must win at this week’s show, and this is who they are.
3. Miro
At this weekend’s show, Miro will be taking on Bryan Danielson in the finals of the World Championship Eliminator Tournament. Many fans want to see Bryan Danielson win, which I understand why. Everyone wants to see Danielson and Omega again too.
The AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament saw a lot of great matches. Danielson knocked off Dustin Rhodes and Eddie Kingston to make it to the finals. Miro on the other hand replaced Jon Moxley when he checked into rehab and beat Orange Cassidy to make it to the finals.
Miro is the dark horse in this tournament. I’d even go as far as saying Miro is the biggest, most underrated guy on the AEW roster. This push could be coming at just the right time as well. Miro recently lost the TNT Championship to Guevara and if he wins this weekend, it could be just the right push to elevate him as a main event star in All Elite Wrestling.
2. Malakai Black and Andrade El Idolo
Honestly, who doesn’t love strange alliances? That is just what we are seeing with Malakai Black and Andrade. Nobody really knows why they decided to team up, besides a mutual hatred for Cody Rhodes. However, this could all be leading to something much bigger.
With Ring of Honor recently closing, there are a ton of rumors going around. Malakai Black has been teasing a new faction on AEW, calling it the “House of Black.” Andrade could be the first member of that alliance. Hopefully, we could get Brody King soon as well.
This week Malakai Black and Andrade take on Cody Rhodes and Pac. In order to cement this impending new faction into AEW’s history books, we need to see Black and Andrade victorious. If Black and Andrade lose, then that would definitely hurt the new faction coming into AEW.
1. Hangman Adam Page
It is time. The story is right there and it is up to AEW to finish that story. Kenny Omega has been an incredible champion. Arguably, he is one of the best around today. However, Adam Page has his number and hopefully will become the new AEW World Champion after this weekend.
The build-up to “Hangman” Adam Page has been there this whole time, right before our very eyes. Starting with the first AEW World Championship match in the history of this company. Page lost to Jericho in that match but even then, they knew he will be the guy. Then, the company paired Page and Omega together as the AEW Tag Team Champions.
They were the champions for the majority of the year 2020. They lost those championships to FTR though in September at All Out. Fast forward to the Casino Ladder Match, Page returned after a two-month break to win the match and become the new number-one contender, for the AEW World Championship. One year after they faced each other at Full Gear 2020, which saw Omega walk out victorious, we will see the rematch.
Full Gear this weekend is setting up to be arguably one of the most underrated AEW shows of the year. A ton of great matches, wrestling, moments, and who knows what else, are in store for us at this show. Who knows, maybe we’ll get a few surprises as well… LET HIM IN.
