Pro Wrestling NOAH is set to see the return of one of its biggest stars, as KENTA has announced that he’s coming back to the promotion on January 1.

The news was announced during NOAH’s BEST of 2021 event with a video segment that revealed his return. Since then, the video has more than 52 thousand views on Pro Wrestling NOAH’s YouTube channel.

KENTA was one of the biggest names that NOAH featured back when the promotion started. He would win the company’s Heavyweight and Junior Heavyweight Championships before leaving the company to move to America and begin his tenure with the WWE in 2014. Since then, he’s returned to New Japan Pro Wrestling where he’s captured the NEVER Openweight Championship and is the current IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion.

KENTA has also walked through the “Forbidden Door” back in February, showing up in All Elite Wrestling to team with Kenny Omega to take on Jon Moxley and Lance Archer. He would lose a match against Moxley at NJPW Strong later that month in his first bid to secure the IWGP US Title but would eventually defeat Hiroshi Tanahashi in November to capture the title.

KENTA’s return to NOAH comes as both promotions gear up for Wrestle Kingdom 16, which is promoted to feature matches between the two companies. Wrestle Kingdom 16 is set for three days, January 4-5 and the 8.
