WWE SmackDown results were recorded on December 17th, 2021 at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL. The show was pre-recorded to air on Christmas Eve and allowed the WWE Superstars to celebrate the occasion with their loved ones.
WWE announced prior to the event that Charlotte Flair would defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Toni Storm. They also announced there would be a “12 Days of Christmas” Gauntlet match to determine the new No.1 contender for Shinsuke Nakamura’s Intercontinental Championship.

“12 Days of Christmas” Gauntlet Match to determine the No.1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship
Intercontinental Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Rick Boogs joined Michael Cole and Pat McAfee on commentary. Sami Zayn def. Ricochet, Drew Gulak, Mansoor, Sheamus, Cesaro, Jinder Mahal, Shanky, Erik, Ivar, Angel, and Humberto in “12 Days of Christmas” 12-man Gauntlet Match to become No.1 contender for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. The match will now take place at WWE Day 1 on January 1, 2022.
Winner: Sami Zayn to become No.1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship
Charlotte Flair vs. Toni Storm for the SmackDown Women’s Championship
Flair retained her championship via pinfall, scoring the victory over Toni Storm.

Drew McIntyre & The New Day (King Woods & Sir Kofi vs. Madcap Moss and The Uso’s in Miracle on 34th Street Fight
This match was set up earlier in the night. Drew McIntyre picked up the victory for his team, delivering a Claymore to Madcap Moss and pinning him.

Next week’s episode of SmackDown is reportedly set to be a ‘Best Of’ episode airing on New Year’s Eve. WWE hasn’t filmed an episode for that particular day, which will be the night before WWE Day 1. The next live edition of SmackDown will take place on January 7, 2022, from Uncasville, CT.
