Five reasons why Big E should win the Royal Rumble
Now is the time for Big E to pick up a major milestone with a Royal Rumble victory.
The first big event of the year for the WWE, The Royal Rumble, is fast approaching, and with that comes everyone’s predictions of who might win the match. The names that keep getting thrown around as potential winners are the usual suspects, stars who either already won the match before or people who don’t need to win.
At WWE Day 1 pay-per-view, Big E defended his WWE Championship against Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, and Brock Lesnar. In the end, Brock Lesnar defeated Big E to become the new WWE Champion. The WWE should allow Big E loss at Day One to refocus Big E and allow him to go on his revenge tour until he gets back the WWE championship. In this article, I will be discussing the five reasons why Big E should win the 2022 edition of the Royal Rumble.
5. He’s a crowd favorite
Big E is at the top of that list regarding who is the most entertaining character in the WWE. Big E is one of the reasons why the New Day has become one of the most successful tag-teams of this generation. Big E is a lovable character with an excellent social media presence compared to many wrestlers in 2022. Big E was the second wrestler ever to win the NXT championship and held the title for five months.
The Royal Rumble usually works great when the underdog is the crowd favorite. Big E losing the WWE championship on Day One is all the motivation Big E needs to focus and win the Royal Rumble.
4. WWE needs to focus on the future
Big E is only 35 years old and has already accomplished a lot in his WWE career. When it comes to Big E, he can leave WWE and become a huge star in Hollywood, but right now, he has made it clear he is determined to be at the top in the WWE. Big E is the right wrestler to build as the top face because it will make the fans get behind whomever the heel is that could take the championship from Big E. The WWE has made it clear with NXT 2.0 that they are focused on building their stars from the ground up. Big E is one of the most successful wrestlers from the golden NXT, so he understands the importance of helping build up younger stars.
3. Storyline with Big E chasing the title
When Big E was drafted to Smackdown, away from his New Day teammates, it seemed like it would be Big E’s time to shine. When Big E started his singles run on Smackdown, it started slow, but he would eventually win the Intercontinental Championship for the second time in his career. Big E would have a feud with Apollo Crews that seemed like it would never end. He would eventually drop the belt and start the beginning stages of going after a world title. Big E would win the Money in the Bank briefcase and shock the world by beating Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship on Raw. When Big E is involved in storylines where he is the chaser, fans genuinely get behind him because they want to see him get the big win.
2. A win at the Royal Rumble could lead to a more serious character.
When it came to WWE Day 1, it ended up being the day that Big E would lose his WWE world championship. When WWE decided to end Big E WWE championship run, many fans questioned the decision because Brock Lesnar was pinned in the match, who was only in the match due to Reigns testing positive for covid. Big E did a great job when it came to representing WWE in the mainstream media.
Whether it be boxing events or being on ESPN for a college football game, Big E losing the championship could be the motivation needed to unlock a new side of Big E that fans have never seen before. Big E is a fun loveable character because of him being a part of the New Day, but what if Big E became a serious babyface that only became silly when he was around his New Day partners or backstage being interviewed before a match.
1. Big E was a great WWE Champion
Brock Lesnar as a face has been very entertaining, but he shouldn’t have been the one to beat Big E for the WWE championship. Big E was a great WWE champion because he was a wrestler that the fans got behind and wanted to win. Big E brought prestige back to the WWE title and made it feel like a huge accomplishment when he would appear on mainstream media shows.
