2022 is set up to be a big year for Big E

When Big E didn’t win the 2021 Royal Rumble, many fans were left thinking, why couldn’t Big E win the big one now. I believe that now wasn’t the time for Big E and that WWE needed to finish the Edge comeback storyline.

When Big E was separated from his New Day brothers, many fans were left wondering if WWE was going to give Big E the push he deserves.  The singles push for Big E started last summer when Kofi Kingston went down with an injury. Big E started off his singles run in a brutal feud with former World champion, Sheamus.

In October of 2020, WWE would split up the New Day, and that would lead to a full-fledge single run that would see Big E beating  Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental championship.  Many people believed that  Big E’s ceiling is well above being a mid-card champion, but putting the IC title on Big E can be useful for Big E and the IC championship. Big E needs to be given some big wins, and he should defend the Intercontinental championship against everyone who steps up to him. Big E should be a fighting champion and should defend the title every week on Smackdown. When you watch a Big E match, the one thing that sticks out is how good he can wrestle; anyone can see that he is a future world champion.

Ever since the draft, many people have said that Big E needs to get more serious. When it comes to comedy, that has been a massive part of Big E’s tenure with WWE and perhaps one of the biggest reasons for his success. Now that Big E is split up from New Day, it is time for a more serious Big E. I know WWE loves to do 50/50 booking, but when it comes to Big E he needs to run through the whole Smackdown roster and be built as the top babyface in the company.

Big E and Sami Zayn need to continue their rivalry, and it needs to take a step up, and WWE needs to make these two wrestlers hate each other. ALL superheroes need a bad guy that can beat them down so that they can come back stronger than ever, and I believe that Big E and Sami Zayn can have a Rock and HHH type rivalry over the Intercontinental championship. Sami Zayn is the right person to push Big E to that next level. I know fans want to see reigns and Big E now, but it is not the time for that match. That match needs to be saved for a future WrestleMania so that Big E can get his big WrestleMania moment with fans in the building to see it.

The one thing that separates The Rock from any other wrestler in the history of WWE is his crossover appeal. When it comes to Big E, he is a very likable person who can match The Rock’s natural humor. The WWE has the chance to create their next big star if it is done right, why rush something that can have a huge pay off for the WWE in the long run. Big E being world champion can lead to endorsement deals and television show appearances. Big E would be the perfect guy to represent WWE as their world champ. Can you imagine Big E on Jimmy Kimmel and doing skits on Saturday Night Live? Big E has the personality to not only be WWE’s next big star but to become huge in Hollywood. The WWE  is long overdue for that mega babyface that can be, if not then, almost on the same level as a Hulk Hogan and John Cena.

WWE should book Big E to win the 2022 Royal Rumble and have him lose the IC title on the road to WrestleMania, and that moment is when we see a different side of Big E a more focused and readier for whatever challenge is thrown in front of him Big E. When  Big E appeared on the December 12, 2020, episode of Talking Smack, he was given advice from Paul Heyman that should be used to build towards a Reigns and Big E match. Big E Vs. Roman Reigns match can lead to years of a back and forth rivalry that could rival Cena and Orton.

Big E is already an 11-time tag team champion, two-time Intercontinental Champion, and NXT world champion. If WWE wants to truly build towards the future, then putting the world title on Big E is best for business.
