Shane McMahon was a hot topic Wednesday afternoon as news broke that he is “out” of WWE.

Ringside News was the first to report the situation and multiple other outlets later confirmed the news. According to Ringside News, the frustration was mounting over potential booking decisions made by Shane at Royal Rumble. McMahon was noted as a producer during the men’s Royal Rumble match and is allegedly taking much of the blame for what is widely regarded as a lackluster showing.

“It was said that Shane was obviously frustrated the day of the show and that some believed that came from his ideas being shot down by Vince McMahon,” Mike Johnson of PW Insider said. “The talk was he was upset that ‘he wasn’t allowed to do what he wanted’ and was ‘greatly preoccupied’ by his own role in the Rumble.”

According to Steve Carrier of Ringside News, Shane was originally planned to be part of the Elimination Chamber, but that position then went to Austin Theory.

Dave Meltzer also confirmed that Shane is “out” of the WWE with more updates to come.

Brock Lesnar walked out of the men’s Royal Rumble with the victory and a guaranteed title match at WrestleMania. He’s also scheduled to be a part of the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship on February 19.
