WWE Elimination Chamber 2022: Top Three Moments Of The Show
WWE held their big Saudi Arabia show today which was Elimination Chamber. The show was headlined by Roman Reigns defending his Universal Championship against Goldberg, and two Chamber matches. We also saw Becky Lynch defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Lita.
One of the Chamber matches was for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The other was for the number one contender for Becky Lynch’s Raw Women’s Title. The show had many memorable moments, but these are just the top three moments.
Raw Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch(c) vs Lita
The Raw Women’s Championship was defended by Becky Lynch against the legendary, Hall-of-Famer, Lita. This match was solid from top to bottom. The match saw Becky Lynch defeat Lita to retain her Raw Women’s Championship.
The reason that this match was ranked high up was that it showed a couple of things. Firstly, we now know the Raw Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania, Becky Lynch will defend her Championship against Bianca Belair, not Liv Morgan or Rhea Ripley, who won the women’s Chamber match… again.
Also, this match was likely Lita’s final match. Lita showed in this match that she hasn’t lost a single step. She worked harder and looked better than a lot of the women wrestlers around today. If this is truly her swan song, what a career.
Roman Reigns Retains His Universal Championship
Today’s show got kicked off with Roman Reigns defending his Universal Championship against Goldberg. The match itself was a solid match and it got the point across. The point is that Roman Reigns is the guy headed into WrestleMania.
The match saw Roman put Goldberg to sleep with the guillotine submission hold to retain his Universal Championship. This was Roman’s final roadblock on his way to WrestleMania. However, the night was just getting started for his WrestleMania opponent, Brock Lesnar.
Brock Lesnar Wins The WWE World Heavyweight Championship
In the main event of today’s show, we saw the second of two Elimination Chamber matches tonight. The match consisted of Brock Lesnar, Austin Theory, Riddle, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, and the WWE Champion Bobby Lashley.
Lashley was taken out about mid-way through the match. Austin Theory got thrown into the pod Lashley was in by Seth Rollins, injuring Lashley. Lashley got taken out of the match and brought to the back, showing that he is apparently injured.
Lesnar ended up making his way out of the pod early and didn’t want to wait his turn. Lesnar went into the match and just cleaned the house. He made quick work of everyone who remained and eliminated all of them. Brock Lesnar pinned Austin Theory to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
So, the stage is set at WrestleMania. With Brock Lesnar as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and Roman Reigns as the WWE Universal Champion, is the WWE going to unify the two top championships in the company again? What will this mean for the brand split? There are a lot of questions heading into this WrestleMania.
