AEW made the right decision to re-sign “All Ego” Ethan Page
Fightful Select reported on Wednesday that All Elite Wrestling has extended “All Ego” Ethan Page. This is an important step because Page is an individual that fans were excited to see join AEW and has an impressively high ceiling with the company. This move adds a strong performer to the main event scene of the future.
According to the report from Fightful Select, Page is expected to “remain with AEW for years to come.” Page joined the company in 2021 and has since seen strong booking, recently involved with the Dan Lambert – American Top Team gimmick that has produced some strong segments, matches, and Scorpio Sky’s rise to the TNT Championship.
Page has everything necessary to be an AEW World Champion. His resume shows plenty of examples where he’s stood out. While the majority of his accolades come in tag team wrestling, looking down his recent runs in wrestling shows that he can stand alone. He’s yet to have a breakthrough victory in AEW though. The biggest matches of his run with the company to date include his two shots at the TNT Championship, losing to Cody Rhodes and Sammy Guevara, plus the recent defeat at the hands of Christian Cage for a spot in the ladder match.
Page has both the in-ring abilities and the personality that AEW leverages across the roster. With Cody Rhodes leaving the promotion and Kenny Omega on the sideline due to injury, several performers continue to step up throughout the company. This long-term deal with Page gives him the space to be one of those individuals that becomes a main event performer. Seeing him as a foil to “Hangman” Adam Page would be a strong stop-gap for both men as the company heads into the next PPV, Double or Nothing in May.
Re-signing Ethan Page to a long-term deal shores up AEW’s roster with a name that fans enjoy and an individual that can fit into any space within the company. This is a strong move and everyone involved should expect good things to come.
