AEW Rampage: Hangman Page retains in bloody Texas Deathmatch

AEW Rampage is live from Dallas, Texas.

Gunn Club vs. Blackpool Combat Club w/William Regal

The Gunn Club’s entrance aired on Twitter at 6:55 PM ET. The Gunn Club is 24-0. This is Blackpool Combat’s Club first match with Wheeler Yuta.

Yuta and Austin start of the match with a lockup, but Austin quickly hit him in the jaw. Yuta rained down right hands on Austin. Yuta continued to work his arm against the rope, but that allowed Colten to tag in. Yuta caught a dropkick and used it to twist his leg and go into a bridge.

Danielson tagged in and continued working the leg. Danielson put Colten into various holds and grabbed his nose. Colten tagged in his dad. Billy got Danielson into the corner, but Danielson put him in the opposite corner and hit him with elbows and a boot.

During picture-in-picture, the Gunns took turns in the ring beating up an isolated Danielson. After the break, Colten had Danielson in a headlock followed by a dropkick. Austin is tagged in and met Danielson’s punches. Mox got tagged in and cleaned house. Mox hit Colten with a back elbow and lariat. On the turnbuckle, Mox hit a superplex. He hit a double DDT on the Brothers Gunn.

Billy tagged in and got taken out with a lariat. Yuta hit a crossbody on Billy. Danielson followed with a Busaiku Knee. Next, Mox hit a stunner. Billy nailed a double clothesline on Danielson and Mox. Yuta hit a forearm, but Billy nearly pinned Yuta. Billy told him to “suck it!” and Yuta rolled him up for the win.

Butcher vs. Barrett Brown

Brown jumped down from the turnbuckle and thought he took down Butcher. He got in a few forearms, but Butcher took control quickly. He sent Brown into the corner and followed with a Powerbomb Symphony for the win.

Ruby Soho vs. Robin Renegade

This is a qualifying match for the Owen Hart Cup tournament. Renegade put Soho in the corner until a 5 count break. Soho put her in a waistlock and Renegade stomped her foot. Soho put her in a wrist lock, but Renegade got wrist control and tossed her down with her hair. Soho hit a combo of a forearm, uppercut, and headbutts. Soho followed with a back elbow. Renegade kick in the gut. Renegade went for the pin and followed up with headlock and put hooked Soho in the mouth.

In picture-in-picture, Renegade remained in control. She rammed Soho into the turnbuckle and hit her with chops. She took her to another corner and chopped her. Soho regained control momentarily before Renegade hit a backstabber. Renegade had her in a rear chokehold, but Soho reversed it into a roll-up.

After the break, Soho nailed Renegade with a backdrop suplex. Soho hit Renegade with several moves and bounced off the ropes. Soho drove Renegade face-first into the turnbuckles. When the ref was distracted, Renegade pulled her twin from under the ring. Soho dove off the top turnbuckle, but Charlette got her knees up. Soho went for the No Future, but Charlette rolled out. Robin rolled up Soho, but Soho kicked out. Soho hit No Future again and pinned the correct twin.

Hangman Adam Page (c) vs. Adam Cole

In a rematch for the AEW World Championship, Hangman challenged Cole to a Texas Deathmatch. This is the second Texas Deathmatch in Page’s title run.

Page got to the ring and tossed two chairs in the ring. Page got in Cole’s face in the corner to talk smack. when the bell rang, Page picked up a chair, so Cole did the same. They swung chairs. On the outside, Page kicked Cole in the chair and then started pummeling him. Page threw Cole into the barricades and steps. Page slung Cole into the time keepers table.

Hangman hit Cole with a lariat over the barricade. They went into the crowd and fought on the stairs. Page hit Cole in the head with a fan’s beer bottle before taking a sip. Page briefly lost track of Cole, but followed him back to the ring.

Page once again grabbed a chair and went up top. Page did a Head and Shoulder Effect with a chair. He followed up with stomps and slung him into a chair between turnbuckles. Page sat in the chair while Cole was on the outside. Turner began counting and Cole was busted open. Cole beat the 10 count.

During picture-in-picture, Hangman threw Cole into the turnbuckle again. Then, he pulled out a table to set up next to the ring. Hangman kicked Cole and then picked up Cole to put him through a table. Cole suplexed Hangman onto the ramp and then threw him into the steps. Cole put Page in the ring and got another chair. Cole used the chair as a weapon and wrecked Page’s face. With Page in the corner, Cole got a chain, which he tied to the rope.

After the break, Cole walked over to Page with the chain, but Page hit him in the stomach. Cole clotheslined him with the chain. Cole set up two chairs back-to-back. Page lifted up Cole, but Cole kicked him in the face and he landed in the chair. Hangman suplexed him into the chairs.

In the corner, Cole is nearly counted out. Hangman got more chairs and set them on top of each other. Cole hit Panama Sunrise, but Page reversed out and hit a piledriver on Cole through chairs. Page went for moonsault and got hit with a Superkick. Page beat the count at 7. Cole successfully hit Panama Sunrise onto the chairs.

Page once again beat the count. Cole drove Page into the turnbuckle and then pulled him up with him. Page headbutted Cole and Superplexed Cole across the chairs. Hangman opened up another chair and put Cole in it. Cole grabbed Page by the back of the pants and Hangman hit him with a back elbow. Cole grabbed his pants again. Hangman sat in his own chair and told Cole to hit him. They exchanged forearms and ended up on their feet.

Page hit a rolling elbow and intercepted a Superkick and then kicked Cole. Cole grabbed Page by the hair and said “you’ll never be Kenny Omega”. Page nailed his opponent with a Buckshot Lariat. Page took his belt off and tied him to the rope with it. Hangman got a chair covered in barbed wire. Page started to hit Cole with it but stopped. He threw the chair aside and untied him. Cole hit him with a low blow.

Cole Superkicked the champ twice. Page responded with a lariat. Page took barbed wire from chair and wrapped it around his arm. Cole hit him with a Superkick through the ropes onto the apron. Page hit Cole in the head with barbed wire and followed with a Dead Eye through the table. Hangman got back in the ring at the 9-count to retain.
