Some unfortunate news for fans of Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee hit on Wednesday as the duo took to social media to announce they are stepping away from in-ring action “indefinitely.”

“The IInspiration have been a great part of IMPACT’s Knockouts roster and wonder to work with,” IMPACT Executive Vice-President Scott D’Amore said in the press release. “Cassie and Jessie are incredibly talented performers. Everyone at IMPACT wishes them every success in the future.”

Collectively, Lee and McKay were known as the IInspiration in IMPACT and the IIconics in WWE. Together, they captured the tag team championship in both organizations, most recently the IMPACT titles in 2022, holding those belts for 133 days. They were among the several names released by the WWE in 2021, with many fans expressing disdain that they were utilized as many expected. WWE even went as far as to invite them back to participate in the 2022 Royal Rumble, and both women turned them down.

McKay and Lee issued a joint statement in the press release.

“We first want to thank Scott D’Amore and the entire IMPACT family. We have had such an amazing experience, working with the incredible IMPACT staff and roster. We will cherish these IMPACT memories forever. We are excited to start a new chapter in our lives and explore other opportunities that may come our way.”

McKay and Lee have been closely linked throughout their lives. They attended the same high school back in Australia and it was their friendship that helped lead them into wrestling as a duo. They made their debut back in 2015 and have performed together for the majority of their career.
