Adam Cole vs Samoa Joe for the men’s Owen Hart Memorial Cup

We have a big contrast in styles for the grand finale of the Owen Hart Memorial Cup. Adam Cole is agile, wily and coming into his own as an elite performer on the AEW roster. He’s always possessed the charisma and promo skills to carry a company. He’s potentially on his way to garnering another AEW World title opportunity depending on how this bout goes.

His opponent is physical, hungry, and has a lot to prove on the final go round of his storied career. Samoa Joe has been all over The United States. A Ring Of Honor and TNA legend, a former 3 time NXT champion and sure fire hall of famer. He’s been inspired by his release from the WWE and has proven that he can still go in the ring.

These two have never met in the squared circle and they briefly interacted in an NXT backstage segment where Joe choked out Cole. Will this be brought up in a promo? Is there a psychological edge for one man or the other in this contest?

It would be really fun to see Samoa Joe continue on his last big sweep through the world of pro wrestling. I simply see larger cards for the man from Panama City and Adam Cole prevailing in the inaugural Owen Hart tournament.

Britt Baker vs Ruby Soho or Kris Statlander for the women’s Owen Hart Memorial Cup

In a stunning turn of events, Britt Baker scored a pinfall victory over Toni Storm in the semifinals of the Owe Hart Memorial cup. Waiting in the wings will be a rematch of sorts at AEW Double Or Nothing.

Kris Statlander will meet Ruby Soho in the other semifinal on AEW Rampage tonight. It’s a rematch of their TBS championship tournament match from November, which was won by Soho. Britt Baker faced off against Statlander at AEW All Out in September of last year. Baker also defeated Soho in the main event of AEW Grand Slam later that month.

I fully expect Baker to lose in the final of this tournament. It’s a bit of surprise she made it here. I do understand the logic behind having your most recognizable female on one of your biggest shows, but to see it come at the expense of Toni Storm was a little surprising.

I’ll go with Ruby Soho to prevail on Rampage and again at Double Or Nothing to take home the trophy.
