NXT 2.0 continues to deliver shocking moments as another main roster talent made their presence known. Apollo Crews is back in NXT and looks to be staying around for a while.

When Apollo Crew first started in the WWE, fans believed that he could be one of the next big stars in the company. He was extremely popular during his time in NXT and it was promising for him to move on to the main roster. While Apollo managed to win the Intercontinental Championship and the United States Championship on the main roster, he was arguably never pushed to his full potential. He struggled to find his place among all the names on the roster despite being one of the most talented among them.

With that being said, the NXT fans were shocked whenever Apollo Crews returned to NXT and confronted the NXT World Champion Bron Breakker. He dropped the heel gimmick that he had been using on SmackDown and returned to being the Apollo Crews that we all used to know. He would later show up to help Solo Sikoa to defeat the team of Grayson Waller and Carmelo Hayes establishing his return to being a face. Now that he has returned to NXT and been given this second chance, I believe we can all expect great things from Apollo Crews going forward.

He didn’t immediately challenge the champion so we will be treated to seeing Apollo Crews work his way up the roster. We have already seen him step into the ring against Waller and Hayes and there are still so many names for Apollo to step into the ring against. As he looks to make a name for himself among the new names of NXT 2.0, here are three names he should face.

3. Solo Sikoa

Apollo Crews made a huge impact on his first night back on NXT by teaming with Solo Sikoa to defeat Grayson Waller and NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes. When Solo Sikoa needed somebody to have his back, Apollo stepped up and showed the direction of his character back in NXT. The two looked truly dominant duo when they stood side by side. However, they also looked like two guys that would tear the house down if you put them against each other in the ring. They are both tough and hungry athletes that are determined to get to the top. I believe it is safe to say their eventual collision will be special.

Solo Sikoa has been holding down NXT 2.0 since his debut and has become one of the fan’s favorites. He has fought against the best of NXT and beat most of them. He is clearly a star of the future and if there is anybody to beat at the moment, it may be Solo Sikoa. Whichever title that Apollo Crews sets his eyes on, you can expect that Solo Sikoa will be in his way in either the chase for the North American Championship or the NXT World Championship. I believe it’s not an if but when these two fight, they will put on a great match and steal whatever show they fight on.

2. Von Wagner

Since the transition of NXT to NXT 2.0, Von Wagner has been one of the guys that the company is clearly high on. The second-generation superstar stands in at an impressive six foot five inches and has been a threat to any superstar that has stepped in his path. He started out his time in NXT 2.0 by teaming with Kyle O’Reilly and having moderate success as a team. Unfortunately, when O’Reilly and Wagner came up short in a tag team championship match, Wagner turned on his partner and beat down O’Reilly. Since unleashing the monster inside, Wagner hasn’t looked back.

Since then, he has aligned himself with the Robert Stone Brand. Although, many would say that Sofia Cromwell has gotten to his head and he has been taking his orders from her instead. Despite whoever it is that Wagner is taking his directions from, he stands as a threat to everybody on the NXT roster. He has all the ingredients to become a champion and if Apollo Crews has the same aspirations as Wagner, then they will eventually have to clash and I will have the popcorn ready and waiting.

1. Joe Gacy

There is a point to argue that Joe Gacy is the biggest heel on the NXT roster. Since NXT 2.0 brought in a load of new talent, Joe Gacy is one of the names that has stood out among the rest. He is a man that could easily be a star in NXT for years to come if he isn’t quickly called up to the main roster. He has most recently fought Bron Breakker for the NXT Championship. Even though Gacy came up short in his match, it doesn’t seem to be affecting Gacy in the slightest. With a huge loss and a huge loss in the release of his right-hand man Harland, Gacy has every reason to be down and out, yet he only keeps looking toward the future.

It was revealed on NXT that he has two new followers that will soon be making their debut as a team. From the look of things, Gacy’s loss could only be making Gacy even more of a threat to Bron’s title and anyone else that is going after it. And that is where Apollo Crews comes into play. While Apollo didn’t directly challenge Bron for the title, he did say he would meet the champion down the line. You can expect that Gacy will soon look for another chance to become the NXT Champion and this time I am sure that Apollo Crews will be there to put him back in line.
