The Acclaimed has officially won most fans over in AEW.

Hearing the names Max Caster and Anthony Bowens used to cause eye rolls whenever they appeared on AEW television. The first impression fans often had of the tag team known as The Acclaimed was wondering when they would get off the television.

Little did most fans know that their opinion of the team would slowly change and become more favorable. It did take a lot of time before getting behind The Acclaimed because of their antics, but they have won over more fans recently than ever before on AEW.

How The Acclaimed went from annoying to popular in AEW.

When The Acclaimed when debuted on AEW, there was a lot of cringing. It was in large part because of their freestyle antics. Of course, they primarily lost matches, which made them seem like guys who talked a lot but couldn’t back it up.

They kept popping back up with the same confidence, like a bug that can’t be squashed; they were unphased by how many matches they lost. They have lost to eventual champions and prospects. It seemed like Caster and Bowens were on the road to being the most confident losers on a weekly basis.

It got to a point that AEW even took exception and tried to censor their freestyles and do damage control for a few controversial raps. It seemed like Caster became comfortable and confident to the point he showed that he couldn’t be contained.

After a small hiatus from Caster, leaving only Bowens on television for a bit, The Acclaimed reunited and seemingly stronger than ever. Even with something so controversial, it still wasn’t enough to get us behind the team at the time.

So many times, fans get behind what is edgy and cheer for it. However, if there is no structure or direction, it doesn’t matter how edgy something or someone portrays themselves on AEW Dynamite or Rampage. That was the case for The Acclaimed but that soon changed with an amazing twist.

It was almost like listening to a new artist for the first time. A person may initially not like their music, but have to listen to it a few times to start liking it. After that, the person would wonder when the next album comes out.

With that in mind, the same can be said about The Acclaimed. It took some time even as their support grew on a weekly basis to get behind the team. It wasn’t a particular match or segment; it was a cumulation of everything they have done.

The icing on the cake was Caster and Bowens sticking it to the Gunn Club and saying what’s on everyone’s mind. That moment solidified them as a team and fans hope they will continue to give those mic drops on a weekly basis.

It’s not unusual for annoying wrestlers to get over at all; in fact, it’s become very common. At this rate, it won’t be unusual to see Caster and Bowens take on a bigger role in AEW programming soon.

They are individuals who can stand on their own for a singles match, but also have a great tag team match due to their unmeasurable chemistry. It gives them a chance to mix it up and not just be focused on the tag team titles, presenting other possibilities for their individual contention.

Overall, it’s impressive. The Acclaimed was once deemed the most annoying, and now they are one of the most desired on a weekly basis. This will surely lead to them looking to drop the mic on anyone, especially since more championship gold opportunities have been presented in AEW.
