AEW Dynamite is back this Wednesday and will be broadcast live on TBS from Detroit, Michigan as we get the second-ever Blood and Guts match.

Coming off of a very good Forbidden Door pay-per-view, Dynamite should revert back to storylines exclusive to the AEW promotion.  One team that will need to be looking over their shoulders is FTR, as they both defended their ROH Tag Team Titles and won the IWGP Tag Team Titles on Sunday at Forbidden Door.

FTR has had a career-defining year in 2022, and the more titles they win and the more promotions they compete in, the more tag team match of the year candidates they will continue to give us.

Also on the Forbidden Door card, we saw Pac become the first-ever All-Atlantic Champion, as he got by Miro, Malakai Black, and Clark Conners in a four-way match.  Thunder Rosa held off a spirited effort from Toni Storm to retain the AEW Women’s Title.  And Jon Moxley defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to win the interim AEW World Title, setting up a possible future showdown with CM Punk.

The newest member of All Elite Wrestling’s roster, as well as the Blackpool Combat Club, was introduced as Claudio Castagnoli, formerly Cesaro, made his debut at Forbidden Door.

While there is currently only one match announced for Wednesday’s card let’s take a look at what else we might see on this week’s episode of Dynamite.

Let’s take a look at the one announced match and some segments we might see on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

The Butcher & The Blade vs Swerve In Our Glory

After picking up an impressive tag team win at Forbidden Door, Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland were verbally accosted by  Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks from a sky box in the United Center.

It has been a bumpy few weeks for Lee and Swerve as a team because of Swerve’s decision to eliminate his tag team partner in the latest installment of the Casino Battle Royale.  Although their tensions seemed to have subsided recently there is little doubt that there is still a lot of mistrust within the ranks of Swerve in our Glory.

While a match with Hobbs and Starks is undoubtedly on the horizon, the trust issues between Lee and Swerve need to continue to play out over a number of matches before we get the ultimate either betrayal or solidification for Swerve In Our Glory, most likely during that match with Starks and Hobbs.

This week the Butcher and the Blade will be the team to test Lee and Strickland’s chemistry.  But even with all things working against them Swerve In Our Glory will come out on top.  Winners: Swerve In Our Glory

Jungle Boy Returns

Two weeks after Jungle Boy was brutally attacked by Christian Cage, it is very likely that he returns on this week’s Dynamite to seek his revenge.

This was the turn that we all saw coming.  While it shocked virtually no one, it was badly needed.  Christian has so much more to offer than being the mouthpiece for a tag team in need of some promo classes.

Heel Christian is easily the best version of Christian, and with the creative freedom that AEW allows its wrestlers, the next few weeks of Christian on the microphone should be as good as gold.  The big question is, where does Luchasaurus land in the split between Jungle Boy and Cage?  And how will AEW tie in the disappearance of Marko Stunt in the dinosaur’s decision?

Thunder Rosa gets a new challenger

Fresh off a win over Toni Storm at Forbidden Door, the obvious question in regard to Thunder Rosa is who is next?

The answer should be Jamie Hayter.

This would serve two purposes, it would elevate Hayter from being Britt Baker’s sidekick to a standing she has yet to achieve in her time in AEW, a title contender.

Second, the story of Hayter going after the AEW Women’s Title could push the long-simmering storyline of a split between Britt Baker and Hayter to the point that they cannot put it off any longer.

Hayter and Baker can then start a feud that will keep Britt busy and away from the title while AEW figures out its next challenger for Thunder Rosa.

Blood and Guts

This year’s installment of Blood and Guts will be a six-on-six match between the Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager, Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard, and Angelo Parker) and the Blackpool Combat Club and friends (Eddie Kingston, Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, Santana, and Ortiz).

Last year’s inaugural Blood and Guts match featured Jericho’s Inner Circle taking on MJF’s Pinnacle, which was won by the Pinnacle.

Due to Jericho’s team winning a trios match against a team led by Eddie Kingston at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, the Jericho Appreciation Society will have the man advantage for a good portion of this match.

An interesting thing to watch here is the dynamic between Castagnoli and Kingston.  After Forbidden Door went off the air last night there was a not-so-friendly exchange between the two competitors that will be part of the same team in this brutal affair.

The question here is does the man advantage the heels have coupled with the shaky team chemistry on the side of the babyfaces make this too much to overcome for Kingston, Mox, and crew?

Next. Top three moments of Forbidden Door. dark

Probably not on this night.  In a match where the only way to lose is the submit or surrender, the fighting spirit and the sheer hatred of the JAS should be enough to drive the babyfaces to victory.  Winners: Mox, Kingston, Yuta, Castagnoli, Santana, and Ortiz.
