Carmella is a dependable member of the WWE roster and deserves respect for it.
When Enzo, Cass, and Carmella were first introduced to the WWE Universe, the odds weren’t in Carmella’s favor that she’d be the most successful one of the group. Now, eight years later and Carmella stands alone as the remaining member signed and featured prominently in the professional wrestling industry. Not only that but she’s had a long run as a central figure on the WWE main roster. Her booking may not always reflect it, but Carmella certainly deserves respect for what she has achieved in her career.
Nearly ten years into her run and Carmella has reached some important milestones. She held the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship and the Women’s Tag Team Championship with Zelina Vega. She even found a way to steal away the 24/7 Championship on two separate occasions. While her list of title reigns may not match the likes of others in the company or in other promotions, what Carmella has proved is that she’s dependable, which is equally important in wrestling.
“You can make me a manager, give me a guy without a chin, a dance break mid-match, change my character, have me wear a mask, be a last-minute replacement and I’m ALWAYS going to show up and show out,” Carmella posted on Twitter on Tuesday. “I rise to every occasion and you can’t take that away from me.”

WWE turns to Carmella when they need it and she delivers
With Rhea Ripley being forced out of WWE Money in the Bank, Carmella has been inserted into the title picture. Carmella versus Bianca Belair is a match that fans have seen before. In fact, it’s been seen so many times that fans rolled their eyes at the idea of seeing it again, even though it made sense for her to be in this slot compared to the other women on the roster.
WWE did this same thing back at SummerSlam in 2021. Moments before Becky Lynch made her return to squash Belair in 30 seconds, Carmella was introduced, only to be thrown from the ring-like her presence meant nothing. That moment was a typical step in the WWE playbook, that also had further implications devaluing Carmella’s place on the roster. When the company calls her number, she performs well with whatever is given to her, but it was still unfortunate to see her get treated in such a fashion.
Carmella’s run draws some comparisons to Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler’s had brief moments in the spotlight, but they’ve never lasted too long. Still, WWE knows they can trust him to excel when needed. Look at who was inserted into early feuds with Drew McIntyre as champion, and who helped elevate Bron Breakker on WWE NXT. Carmella has a similar value for the women’s division on the main roster.
“I don’t care if y’all respect me or not. I know what I’ve done and what I’m capable of,” Carmella also said on Twitter. “I don’t need to prove my worth to ANYONE because I already know that MELLA IS MONEY.”
That was a powerful statement from the former champion and one that comes with the truth behind it.
