WWE should change the current Lacey Evans gimmick due to its failure
By Amit Shukla
WWE has tried to portray Lacey Evans as a heel, demanding respect for her All-American patriotism. Even though the character fits well, the execution hasn’t consistently worked. The promos of the army veteran aren’t connecting, and they don’t entice fans to react, unlike some of her previous work. Does it mean that Lacey has missed the bus and the connection with the fans? Is it too soon to judge her character as something may happen down the line?
WWE has used superstar history in their storylines on various occasions, so this shouldn’t surprise. Lacey was an excellent heel before she announced her pregnancy amid her storyline with Charlotte Flair. Ric Flair was a part of the storyline, and he went from WWE since this storyline abruptly ended. Lacey knows how to cut a promo and get a reaction from fans, but the script-heavy promo writing hasn’t helped her return to action.
Triple H has taken charge of WWE creative. With Hunter taking control of the creative direction, Lacey may get her due and be in the championship picture. Alexa has made her intentions clear that she wants to be a part of the Raw Championship picture. With more qualifying performers, the championship will hold value, and Lacey will be an excellent addition alongside “The Man” Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss. A promo war between them alongside Bianca Belair would be a treat for the WWE Universe. Should Lacey continue her character in the current situation?
Lacey should drop this character as early as possible because it’s not adding any value to her impressive work history. She can be meaner without this demeanor and still get people involved. We saw her heel performance in the past. It proves that she can deliver any role as long as fans interact with her. It is missing in the current gimmick. It’s the reason why she should change her character sooner than later.
What do you think? Chime in.
