The AEW Trios Title Tournament has started and the brackets are set. One team has caught the attention of every interested in the tournament and that is The Young Bucks who have a surprise partner in store. Expectations are that Kenny Omega will return in that spot, setting off a series of branching storylines in All Elite Wrestling.

Fightful Select reported weeks ago that Omega’s return is apparently nearing, according to sources within AEW. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that a big match between FTR and The Bucks is on hold as another storyline is being developed. When the secret partner for the Bucks was shown it became clear that this partner may be the returning Omega, who has been away from AEW since November. When he walks back into the picture, things will be off and running for AEW in a creative sense.

Of course, there’s the angle of the reformed Elite facing off against the threat that is the Undisputed Elite. Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish have tried to take over from within but now it’s clear that the two groups are at odds with each other. Omega’s return will lead to the battle between them and some of the most anticipated matches that AEW has to offer at the time.

But the story doesn’t end there. Jay White has stepped into AEW and staked his claim as the leader of The Bullet Club. He and Omega faced off in IMPACT Wrestling but that led only to more questions rather than answers. With Omega back, that should point toward these two men facing off with Cole being the catalyst of that situation. Cole called White a friend repeatedly heading into the four-way contest at Forbidden Door. Could Cole call on White and The Bullet Club to help with the reformed Elite? Perhaps this causes them to turn to “Hangman” Adam Page to help even the odds.

And then there’s the main event picture itself. The reaction to Omega’s return is going to push for a call to see him back in the title picture. “The Best Bout Machine” could find himself back into the title picture. Will “The Belt Collector” be back? Perhaps not, but instead a babyface version of Omega that takes on the top threats in AEW with The Young Bucks chasing the tag team titles.

Next. If CM Punk can't go, Daniel Garcia should face off with Jon Moxley. dark

Everyone is waiting patiently on Kenny Omega’s return and the multi-angled storyline that will follow. There’s a lot to tell about the group that pushed the formation of All Elite Wrestling and with the biggest name back in the fold things will certainly become more interesting at the top of the AEW roster.
