Alpha Academy should be next in line for The Usos

This Friday on SmackDown, Alpha Academy will be in a fatal 4-way number one contender tag team match against The New Day, The Street Profits, and Los Lotharios. Alpha Academy is the best team to pick if there’s a team that should win and goes on to face The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship.

Alpha Academy becoming the number one contender against The Usos would feel fresh in the tag team division. The Street Profits will not be next in line because they already faced The Usos twice in losing efforts. Los Lotharios wouldn’t cut either since the team is currently in a middle of a program with Maximum Male Models. As for The New Day, The Usos had competed against them numerous times over the past five years.

Not only do The New and The Usos have a long history, but another collision between these two legendary teams is not the time. The New Day has been falling to The Viking Raiders for months, so it wouldn’t make sense for The New Day to face The Usos anytime soon. Although Chad Gable has competed against The Usos during his time in American Alpha, Gable never competed against The Usos, alongside his tag team partner, Otis. Gable and Otis were RAW Tag Team Champions once before, but they never received their rematch at the gold.

Chad Gable, especially, is someone who deserves a shot at the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles. Lately, Gable has been elevating wrestlers such as the returning Braun Strowman, Kevin Owens, and Johnny Gargano. After witnessing Gable’s match with Gargano last Monday, there is no way for Alpha Academy not to become the top contenders in the tag team division. Who knows? Maybe, Alpha Academy could be the team that dethrones The Usos. Alpha Academy has made upsets before so it could happen again.
