WWE is the right place for the Good Brothers
By J.C.
The Good Brothers coming back to WWE was the right move.
Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows have always been one of the most unique tag teams from the very beginning when they started teaming up in Japan. They have had a unique journey winning championships in numerous promotions and around the world including WWE.
A lot has changed in the wrestling landscape and that includes the Bullet Club itself. These changes made it hard when Anderson and Gallows were gone from WWE. They went to AEW and Impact Wrestling, but it wasn’t the same as in previous years.
When Gallows and Anderson came back to WWE, it made perfect sense at this stage of their careers because absolutely nothing is the same. Gallows and Anderson coming back to WWE is what’s best for their careers at this stage.
Why do Gallows and Anderson benefit from WWE over anywhere else?
When Gallows and Anderson were released by WWE, there was no question that they would end up somewhere else. The wrestling world completely changed and the Good Brothers were left trying to adjust to this change. Sometimes it led to uncharacteristic antics or just feeling lost in the shuffle of the plans for various companies.
When they first signed with WWE, the Bullet Club was completely different than it is right now and of course, AEW became a company. With certain stars they once aligned with before like Kenny Omega in AEW, it was an obvious choice for them to align with him.
Of course, they signed with Impact Wrestling and it was an odd choice. The forbidden door between Impact and AEW was mainly the Good Brothers walking through any time they wanted. Even with them aligning with Kenny Omega, it was still an awkward choice.
With respect to Kenny Omega, his presence is different now than it was years ago, so anyone trying to pick up where they left off would be blown away by the winds of change. That’s exactly what happened when the Good Brothers aligned with Kenny Omega, it didn’t feel organic anymore.
The Good Brothers were just trying to fit in anywhere they saw fit at the time, but nothing was working. It’s a testament to how fast everything changed in wrestling during that time. Even though they have a history with Omega, they still felt out of place and awkward.
They tried to fit in with outlandish personas to fit into the new direction that Omega and the Young Bucks took in a new company such as AEW. The Good Brothers generally come from a place where what they do in a ring defines who they are, not the other way around.
Now that the Good Brothers are back in WWE, it’s the best career move at this stage with a highly volatile wrestling scenery. AJ Styles has always been their major beneficiary since he still carries the culture of the old Bullet Club days as a competitor in WWE. The same can be said about Finn Balor who still carries elements of the original incarnation of Bullet Club.
At this stage, aligning with AJ Styles is the best-case scenario since it’s the never-ending nostalgia of the original Bullet Club coming together to remind people of the glorious days that took the wrestling world by storm.
It feels natural with AJ Styles by their side and it will surely lead to more accolades in the WWE tag team division. They came back as if they never left the company picking up where they left off, and that’s beating people up.
This run will be no different than before, but fans will notice a deeper appreciation and connection with AJ Styles and maybe even Finn Balor. Fans will have to keep tuning in to WWE RAW to see what the Good Brothers will do next to rock the tag team division.
