John Cena expected to compete at WrestleMania 39

John Cena will reportedly be at WrestleMania 39 and will likely be wrestling as well. “WrestleMania Goes Hollywood” for two nights at So-Fi Stadium on April 1-2, 2023.

According to WrestleVotes, Cena will not only be at WrestleMania but will also likely participate as a wrestler: “Cena should be there and Cena should be wrestling.” Even with Vince McMahon gone from WWE, it is believed that his relationship with Triple H is strong. WrestleVotes said while speaking exclusively to Give Me Sport, “I know he touches base every so often, and although Vince is out of the picture, Cena still has a love for this place. John Cena and Triple H have a respect for each other.”

WrestleVotes also speculated that Cena is trying to be like The Rock and that’s why he’s wrestling at “The Show of Shows”. “WrestleMania is still WrestleMania and it’s in Los Angeles. If Cena is legitimately trying to be ‘the next Rock’ you should perform at WrestleMania in Hollywood, and I think he’ll be there and I think it’ll be wrestling. I’ll leave it at that.”

Who Could John Cena Wrestle?

Besides the question of “Will John Cena actually show up?”, the next question to be answered is: “Who will be his opponent?” Although they have a history, The Rock is projected to face his cousin, Roman Reigns, in one of the main events.

Austin Theory has said that Cena is the person he’s most modeled his career after. A few months ago, Cena was on WWE’s TikTok and he named Theory as his current favorite wrestler. When asked who most deserved the Attitude Adjustment, he gave the same answer. This led to speculation that they’d face off at SummerSlam, but that didn’t come to fruition.

After the questionable booking last night on RAW in which Theory failed to win after cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase, Baron Corbin tweeted him. He said, “Welcome to the club. We are a special club led by John Cena.” Corbin tagged Cena, so perhaps this is another nod to a potential WrestleMania 39 opponent.

As WWE begins the “Road to WrestleMania” it should soon become clear who Cena will face. There may not be QR codes, but there will likely be heavy teases and references to “Hustle, Loyalty, Respect” until Cena’s horns blare to signal his arrival in the WWE Universe.
