On the Holiday Bash edition of AEW Rampage, there was the inaugural Three Kings Christmas Casino Trios Royale. Eight Trios teams competed in the match with the very long name.

Those teams were Best Friends and Orange Cassidy, The Butcher, The Blade, and Kip Sabian, Blackpool Combat Club, S.A.P. (the newly formed Trios comprised of Serpentico, Luther, and Angelico), Top Flight and AR Fox, Tony Nese, Josh Woods, and Ari Davari, Dark Order, and Los Faccion Ingobernables.

The match started off with three teams. Blackpool Combat Club entered the match, followed by Dark Order. They went straight for Preston Vance and finally got a little bit of revenge for his betrayal.

Top Flight and Fox were the final team to enter the Royale. As Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli battled the Martin brothers, a wild Hangman Page appeared. On Dynamite, Dark Order asked him not to get involved. He didn’t listen and went straight for Mox to start throwing hands. The two brawled on the outside before Mox jumped from the top rope onto Page and security. Page has still not been medically cleared.

Yuta had been eliminated earlier in the match and now with Mox indisposed, that left the ROH Champion to take on Top Flight in a handicap situation (Fox had also been eliminated). There was a long back and forth sequence that was great. It looked like the match could go either way. In the end, Top Flight used their incredible tag team prowess to get the better of Castagnoli and win the $300,00 prize.

This was a great match that highlighted Top Flight and Fox as a Trios team. They could be a threat to whomever wins the Best-of-Seven matches between Death Triangle and The Elite. Going toe-to-toe with Blackpool Combat Club is a huge feat for a Trios team that’s only competed together a few times. Winning a big match like this gives them a lot of momentum heeding into the new year and also puts the other teams on notice not to overlook them.

On the New Year’s Smash edition on Dynamite, Top Flight will face Castagnoli and Mox. It’s great to see a young team like this get put in the spotlight against two of the most popular wrestlers in the company.
