Thunder Rosa’s potential future in AEW.

Thunder Rosa relinquished her title after fans were given the bad news that Rosa’s injury would force her out of competition for an extended period of time. AEW has gone through circumstances with injury, but it’s typically seen with stars moving back into the picture quickly and either gaining their title or coming up short.

It’s very clear that Thunder Rosa’s injury is severe since there have been conflicting time frames for her return, anything ranging from later this year to 2024. With such an uncertain time frame, it’s clear that the former women’s champion has a lot on her plate in terms of a return.

All is not lost since Thunder Rosa has a certain presence that’s different than anyone else. Even if she’s not in the ring, her presence can be felt in many other ways as she continues to heal up for a return on AEW Dynamite.

The invisible hand of Thunder Rosa on AEW.

The most underrated aspect of Thunder Rosa is her lasting presence of finding ways to stay in the picture. Whether people remember her for something good, bad, or even infamous, Rosa has that tendency long before she won championship belts in major companies and it’s something fans can expect from her today.

Rosa has never been the type of competitor to sit back and heal while at home, she always had to be involved in some shape or form. In 2016, Thunder Rosa had an injury that forced her to vacate the Lady Luck championship. Whenever Rosa loses a title and it’s not on her terms, she finds ways to stay in the loop and leaves no possibility of getting lost in the shuffle.

Rosa was on commentary for a match as she witnessed her title go on the line as Fallen Flower Kikyo went against Brittany Wonder. The match itself has become a pillar for independent women’s wrestling, which is why it wasn’t any surprise that Thunder Rosa sat on commentary witnessing the bout between the two unique superstars.

It would have been just as easy for Rosa to take that time away, but that’s not Rosa’s style at all. During the match between Kikyo and Wonder, Rosa made it very clear that she intended to go against either competitor no matter the results to reclaim her title.

It’s not the first time Thunder Rosa has been backed into a corner which left her overall wrestling future up in the air. When she was part of Lucha Underground years later, she was placed in contracts that made it impossible to work elsewhere.

Rosa has always been a free spirit when it comes to wrestling, when she works one place, she always works for another place, but Lucha Underground put it all to a grinding halt. Rosa had to fight hard to make appearances again including a lawsuit in 2019.

Almost a year after that very lawsuit, Rosa became NWA women’s champion. Thus showing that nothing can keep her down for long as she takes any avenue to make her goals happen. When it comes to Rosa, absolutely nothing is off the table to make her presence felt one way or another.

There is no way to know what Thunder Rosa will do during her extended time away, but one thing is for certain she will make her presence felt on AEW programming one way or another in the very near future.

It’s only a matter of time before Rosa makes an appearance on AEW programming in a similar way she did back in 2016 in the independent wrestling circuit. The growing AEW women’s division would certainly make it more appealing as there are other talents Rosa may have not faced before or matches she has had in her past before she got signed.

Fans will have to wait and see any sign of Rosa’s presence on AEW programming to see if she will use her relentless attitude to make her presence felt soon. Time will tell, but there are a number of ways for Thunder Rosa to make her presence felt on AEW Dynamite.
