Three potential challengers for Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 39
Bianca Belair is in need of a big challenge at WrestleMania 39, and these three options would fit the bill.
Rhea Ripley made her announcement on Monday Night Raw that she will take on Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39. Many expected her to call out Bianca Belair, but WWE has gone with the audible. That leaves Bianca Belair without a challenger. Here are three women that fans would get behind as a top challengers for the reigning and defending WWE Raw Women’s Champion.
Asuka
Asuka’s return at the 2023 Royal Rumble was a big moment. Not only did she come back to a standing ovation from fans, but she did so with an appearance that fans of her work in Japan will recognize. The Kana face paint harkens back to a time when she was one of the most feared in all of wrestling. Allowing her to return and go on a rampage through the women’s division would be the breath of fresh air that fans have wanted for Asuka for a very long time. Plus, seeing her pick up the victory at WrestleMania that has eluded her would be a career-defining moment for someone who deserves the experience.
Naomi
When Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of WWE, it was reported that Naomi was in line for a title shot against Belair. That never came to be and fans are still waiting for their favorite to return to the WWE. If WWE wants to put together a big match that will catch attention, bringing back Naomi to challenge and defeat Belair at WrestleMania 39 would be the way to go. There’s a lot of work that needs to be done between now and then to see this occur, but pulling it off would be a massive boost for the company in the eyes of a lot of fans.
A Multi-Woman Match
Without Rhea Ripley as a top challenger, the WWE Raw women’s division is lacking a top challenger for Belair heading into WrestleMania. Yes, Bayley and Becky Lynch are two of the most important women in professional wrestling. But Belair has picked up multiple clean wins over them both. Putting them back into the title picture without any long-term development wouldn’t help anyone involved.
However, what if WWE booked a multi-women match for Belair at WrestleMania 39? Putting together something like a six-pack challenge, with well-built challengers, would go a long way for everyone involved. Plus, it would be a way to get the championship off Belair without having her take the pinfall. WWE needs to find a way to build multiple names in that division for a post-Mania run and this would be one way to get there.
It will be interesting to see who comes out of the pack to face Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 39. She needs a big challenge for the biggest show of the year, and these three options can help answer the call.
