Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin split has the attention of WWE fans

Toxic Attraction is done and WWE fans are buzzing about what is next for Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin. 

The February 7 edition of WWE NXT saw the split of Toxic Attraction. After dominating the brand since 2021, the group’s run of terror is finally over. Many individuals quickly pointed out the use of the infamous 1991 segment that saw Shawn Michaels turn on Marty Jannetty, bringing an end to The Rockers. The WWE women’s division is in an interesting position across all three brands and eyes will watch closely for what’s next with Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin.

When Mandy Rose was released from the company, many wondered what would happen to Jayne and Dolin. The two women were multiple-time WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions and had popped up on the main roster a few times to chase the WWE Women’s Tag Titles. The expectation was to see them return to either Raw or SmackDown as a duo, which was even hinted at during the segment. That wouldn’t be the case as the swerve was in play with Jayne delivering the superkick and a thudding boot to Dolin’s head against the door.

How will things play out for Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin?

But now what? Of course, there’s the pending feud between the two women. They’ve remained in the NXT Women’s Title picture, so fans should expect to see their battle get prominent placement on a weekly NXT show that is already heavy with women’s wrestling content. Still, it’s hard to see these two women standing out as singles performers in a women’s division that is bursting with talent but also low on time. With only two hours a week, NXT does a solid job getting time to Roxanne Perez, Zoey Stark, Sol Ruca, Elecktra Lopez, Lyra Valkyria, Fallon Henley, Kianna James, Tiffany Stratton, and plenty of others.

Dolin versus Jayne would work as a lower-card feud on WWE NXT, but WWE could also serve to move this feud up to the main roster. Allowing Jayne to debut first, with an eventual Dolin following her to further the angle would help create another feud on the main roster that desperately needs better attention on the women’s division. The February 6 edition of WWE Raw was a step in the right direction, but fans are still clamoring to see more of their favorite women’s wrestlers on the main roster.

With six and seven years of experience under their belts, both Jayne and Dolin have shown some flashes during their run with the company. They didn’t stand out as individuals, but the minute Rose was added to the equation things popped off for Toxic Attraction. Now comes the challenge of keeping that momentum and these ladies maximizing the opportunity as singles performers. It will be a challenge as the WWE continues to build out the women’s division, but it’s one that should help build the future of women’s wrestling in the company.

Women’s wrestling is on an uptick in the WWE. This new angle between Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin will be one to watch to see how and where things play out for the two women involved.
