The Street Profits are one of the most popular teams on the WWE roster, but Angelo Dawkins has shown that he can be a star on his own.

It is inching closer to one year with Triple H in charge of WWE Creative and Talent Relations. During that time one of the biggest differences is the quality of wrestling that occurs throughout the WWE product each week. Multiple names have stepped up to put together strong matches, but it is time to recognize another that continues to stand out every opportunity he gets. Angelo Dawkins may not be new to the wrestling game, but he is someone that continues to impress every time he steps into the ring.

When fans and media personalities talk about The Street Profits, the conversation quickly turns to Montez Ford as the breakout star. Since their main roster run started, many keep their eye on the moment when Ford steps into his own and makes a run as a singles champion. He checks a lot of the boxes that WWE looks for when elevating singles performers, and the company could have an exceptional power couple with Ford and Bianca Belair. But do not sleep on Dawkins.

Angelo Dawkins’s in-ring work continues to improve

It does not matter whether it is a tag team or singles match, Dawkins continues to remind people that he can go from bell to bell. The resume of tag matches is easy to list off, but go look back at his recent singles matches against Damian Priest, Solo Sikoa, and Seth Rollins as examples.

The first of those matches occurred back in August, with the most recent against Priest on the February 6 edition of Monday Night Raw. Dawkins’s improvement is clear in each of those matches. While he doesn’t come out the victor in these big matches, each time he shows his growth as a performer. Not only is he hitting new techniques, like that over-the-top-rope plancha, but he’s becoming more of a favorite among fans at the same time. Listen to the reactions to his offense and hot tags, there’s a growing base of support behind Dawkins which is a testament to his hard work.

The split between The Street Profits is going to come at some point. Hopefully, WWE avoids going the typical route like The Rockers from decades ago or Toxic Attraction last week. There’s an opportunity to build two strong, babyface singles stars with Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins. While many have their eyes on Ford, do not overlook what Dawkins is showing us. He can be a major player in his own way and WWE would be smart to create that path.
