AEW Rampage: AEW Revolution build still playing out
We’re just nine days away from AEW’s first pay-per-view of the year, Revolution. When Rampage started, only six matches were official.
Tonight’s show kicked off with the Young Bucks vs. Aussie Open (Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher). The match had a lot of hard-hitting action and it’s hard to believe that the Australian tag team is contracted anywhere. The match was rolling right along until the lights went down. They came back up, but no one was there. Aussie Open nearly stole the victory, but the Bucks scored the clean fall.
As the Bucks celebrated with Kenny Omega, the lights went down again. When they came back on, each member of the House of Black surrounded the ring. They will be facing The Elite for the Trios titles next Sunday.
In a backstage segment with Lexy Nair, Best Friends talked about the game plan to win the Tag Team Casino Battle Royale on Dynamite. They were attacked by The Gunns, Big Bill, and Lee Moriarty. Orange Cassidy and Danhausen came up later and asked who attacked them. Cassidy asked how bad their injuries were, but the camera cut before the answer. As of now, they are still in the battle royale.
There was a promo from Jade Cargill where she reminded everyone just how dominant she’s been as TBS Champion. She welcomes all competitors. As of now, she does not have an opponent for Revolution.
In another backstage segment, Dustin Rhodes and Keith Lee called out the Mogul Affiliates for next week in San Francisco. Rhodes declared, “Make no mistake about it, you’re going to hell. And this time…it’s for good.” Swerve Strickland confirmed that the match would happen next week at Cow Palace.
Revolution is live from the Chase Center on Sunday, March 5 at 8 PM ET. In the US, it airs on Bleacher Report. Zero Hour will take place an hour before on AEW’s YouTube.
