WWE: 5 Surefire Post-WrestleMania Predictions for the Rest of 2023
By Mark Justice
2.) Rhea Ripley Will Dethrone Bianca Belair to Merge The Divisions.
Rhea Ripley will dethrone Bianca Belair to become the Undisputed Women’s Champion and merge the women’s divisions. The women’s divisions are so depleted to the point that not even a few NXT call-ups can fix it. There are way too many rematches in the title scene with the same familiar faces in the title picture. The divisions need to be merged to add more value to the women’s title in WWE and bring about fresh feuds in the new wrestling calendar year. That tease between Ripley and Belair on Raw was just what WWE needed to spark a brand-new start for the division.
As predicted here on Daily DDT, Belair, and Ripley were always going to win their respective title matches at Mania 39 because they are the John Cena and Randy Orton of this women’s division today. In other words, Belair and Ripley are the top face and heel of this era’s division respectively. They have defeated every top contender in this division, and it is long overdue for two of WWE’s top NXT graduates, who are not one of the four Horsewomen, to battle head to head, sees who is truly the best of the best, and elicit a bright future for the women’s division as a whole.
Both women are deserving of being the Undisputed Women’s Champion. However, since Belair has held the title for more than 365 days and Ripley just won the title, it makes more sense for Ripley to win here and go on a monster run as champ whilst leading the Judgment Day.
1.) Roman Reigns Will Still Be the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
WWE is only in the third inning of Roman Reigns’ title reign. They haven’t even reached the seventh-inning stretch. Base hits and RBIs do not exist in the world title reign of Reigns. All that exists are home runs and grand slams. Unless WWE separates the world titles after the WWE Draft, Reigns won’t be losing the titles anytime soon. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn already got the tag titles as a consolation prize for losing to Reigns. Drew McIntyre is on his way to becoming Drew Galloway. Brock Lesnar is not even allowed to battle Reigns for the title ever again.
Bobby Lashley will lose to Reigns at MITB. AJ Styles will lose to Reigns at SummerSlam. Seth Rollins will lose to Reigns at Survivor Series. All the part-timers, such as Goldberg, Stone Cold, and The Rock will lose to Reigns at those asinine Saudi PPVs. Most importantly, Cody Rhodes won’t win the world title until the last year of his WWE contract in 2026. That way, WWE can give him the title as an incentive to re-sign with the company and not go back to AEW, a company that lacks more structure than the Bromochlorofluoroiodomethane (ClBrCIF) chemical compound.
At the end of the day, there are three certainties in life: (1) Death, (2) Taxes, and (3) Reigns will remain Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for the rest of 2023. The more things change in WWE, the more they stay the same.
