AEW is all about surprises with battle royal matches and these are three names that fans would be excited to see at Double or Nothing.

All Elite Wrestling is headed toward its next big PPV with Double or Nothing scheduled for May 27. One of the big matches on the card features Orange Cassidy and his AEW International Championship. Cassidy remains one of the best performers in professional wrestling and his run with this championship proves that point. Fans should expect some fun with the Blackjack Battle Royal and if AEW continues the trend shown in similar matches, surprises will come. With that match on the horizon, these are three big surprises that would work well for the showcase.

Scorpio Sky

Scorpio Sky’s last match on AEW television was back in July 2022. An injury forced him to the sideline, but since then reports have mentioned that he’s available but not utilized. AEW made a perplexing decision to drop the ball on one of the first individuals on the roster that generated any buzz with Black fans.

Welcoming him back during the battle royal would be a big moment. It could even lead to an eventual feud with Cassidy if either man comes out of the match with that championship. Scorpio Sky isn’t an individual that AEW and its fans should see as expendable and with Collision coming soon, it would be interesting to see him return to television via this match at the PPV.

Miro

Miro is another individual that disappeared from television. He recently returned in a backstage segment, setting off a firestorm of speculation around what is next for him. As with Scorpio Sky, fans expect Miro’s triumphant return to happen on AEW Collision where he can be featured more prominently. If that’s the case, bringing him back via the Blackjack Battle Royal creates the opportunity to develop some feuds for his future, or even put an important singles championship on his waist right out the gate.

Kota Ibushi

Kota Ibushi would be a massive surprise that could break the internet. There’s growing speculation that he will be involved with AEW at some point, most likely as a part of the growing battle between the Blackpool Combat Club and The Elite. While that is what fans want to see, imagine the reaction that would come if he took part in the Blackjack Battle Royal.

Ibushi doesn’t have to win it immediately, but it could be a big moment just for him to go out there and shock the wrestling world. Ibushi is perhaps the biggest free agent on the market and this would be another huge win during the “Summer of AEW.”
