Kevin Owens will eventually turn on Sami Zayn to become a massive heel

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have been through it all to become the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions, but a massive heel turn from Owens is inevitable.

It’s been over a year since Zayn approached The Bloodline on an episode of WWE Smackdown in April of 2022 asking to form an alliance. Little did we all know, Sami Zayn would help orchestrate one of the greatest storylines in the history of professional wrestling. It was also an opportunity down the line to insert Zayn’s real-life best friend Kevin Owens back into the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship picture with Roman Reigns.

Before defeating The Usos at WrestleMania, the last time Owens was a champion in WWE, was back in July of 2017 when he defeated AJ Styles at WWE Battleground 2017 for the WWE United States Championship.

Why should Owens turn on Zayn?

Other than his short feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin to set up a No Holds Barred match at WrestleMania 38, Owens hasn’t gotten many opportunities over the past couple of years. In terms of top stars currently in the WWE, Owens is one of the top guys both in and out of the ring that the company has to offer.

What makes Owens so marketable as a WWE superstar, is that he has proven to work both as a babyface and as a heel. Owens and Zayn are currently in the midst of what will likely be a memorable Tag Team title run, but eventually, it has to come to an end. Zayn is so over with the WWE Universe, that he has to come out of this unblemished and as the clear babyface. That leaves only one option — Owens will turn on Zayn to become a massive heel.

They’re currently in a feud with The Judgement Day, who have made their intentions known of taking over and grabbing all of the gold. WWE has done a phenomenal job at long-term storytelling and there is a huge opportunity here with Zayn and Owens to create something fresh and new. Yes, they’ve gone back and forth throughout their career being a tag team and being enemies. In the past, WWE took a lazy approach to this feud and now that Owens and Zayn are as biggest stars that they’ve ever been, the moment is there for WWE to capitalize.

The Bloodline storyline is on its last legs and things are finally unravelling. What will be the next big feud/storyline? Why not Owens and Zayn? Owens turning heel on Zayn after all of this time would immediately make him one of the top heels in the company. Honestly, I am imagining Dominik Mysterio’s type of heat from the WWE Universe. The jealousy for Zayn’s crowd reaction over his will boil over and finally take its toll.

Whether it’s sooner or later, a heel turn is coming from Owens. When it happens, we will witness another all-time great feud and an ending to the friendship story of Owens and Zayn in WWE.
