WWE SmackDown Predictions: Iyo Sky Will Mist Asuka

WWE SmackDown is continuing its road to WWE FastLane 2023, which is currently up in the air pertaining to any ongoing SmackDown feuds. On this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Iyo Sky is scheduled to defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Asuka in a dream match which should have been saved for a PPV, and LWO members, Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar, are scheduled to battle Street profits after a tense confrontation last week.

n other news regarding WWE SmackDown, the Hollywood strikes led to The Rock miraculously returning home last week, and fans are now speculating on future storylines for The Great One, especially the heavily rumored Tribal Chief storyline with Roman Reigns. Speaking of Hollywood stars, John Cena is also feuding with The Bloodline, as it seems he has allies in both AJ Styles and LA Knight in taking them down at some point, more particularly Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa.

With that being said, the following will focus on the announced matches and the idea of Iyo Sky misting Asuka on the road to WWE FastLane 2023.

WWE SmackDown is scheduled to take place on September 22, 2023, live on FOX, and Iyo Sky will mist Asuka en route to WWE FastLane 2023.

Iyo Sky will mist Asuka to retain her WWE Women’s Championship due to recency bias. Asuka just lost the title at SummerSlam, which is the same venue Iyo Sky cashed in to win the belt. With Shotzi, Charlotte, and even Bianca as future opponents in her title reign due to unfinished business, there is no way Iyo is dropping her title here. Since WWE did book this dream match on live television, an inconclusive finish is also likely and could lead to something bigger at FastLane.

Rey Mysterio & Santos Escobar vs. Street Profits [Tag Match]

Street Profits will defeat Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar because this match is clearly leading to the dissension of LWO. Escobar already called his shot for the U.S. Title. Although it was respectfully delivered, this is another “can they coexist?” storyline that will lead to tension between Mysterio and Escobar. This match will cut the cake, as the Profits are hot in momentum ever since forming an alliance with Bobby Lashley and have no business losing here.
