He is arguably the top babyface on the WWE roster, and facing off against Roman Reigns will push LA Knight over the top.

The momentum for Knight was at an all-time high approaching the Money In The Bank pay-per-view in July. Most fans believed it would be the time for Knight to win the Money In The Bank briefcase and secure the opportunity of a lifetime — a future WWE Championship.

Instead, WWE decided to give the briefcase to Damian Priest. Since then, WWE has continued the momentum that Knight has had for the majority of 2023 and has somehow managed to grow him as a babyface even more.

The stage is set this Saturday for Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. Roman Reigns against the Knight for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Going into this match, Reigns is the favorite to retain the belt, but regardless of the outcome, Knight will come out of this match the biggest winner. If Knight does indeed lose this Saturday, it will be because of interference from The Bloodline. Due to that, he won’t look weak by any means.

In what has become one of the most organic growths ever for a WWE superstar, Knight has become must-see television. Compared to everyone who has faced The Tribal Chief before Knight, nobody has outshined Reigns in verbal interactions in addition to their non-verbal. For the first time since WrestleMania, it feels like Reigns’ title run could be in jeopardy. That itself says everything you need to know about the current phenomena of Knight.

As things sit right now, Gunther, Cody Rhodes, and Knight are early favorites to win the 2024 Royal Rumble and headline WrestleMania 40. He has already shown he can hang with the best in the business and is one of the best in all of pro wrestling in talking the talk and walking the walk. WWE has made it known they’re in favor of “long-term storytelling.” When it’s all said and done, when Knight eventually wins his first title on the main roster, it will be because of his match at Crown Jewel against Reigns that puts him over the top.
