3 candidates to defeat Roxanne Perez for the WWE NXT Women's Championship
Roxanne Perez is the ace of WWE NXT. It was clear from the start that the company had big plans for the young woman the day she stepped foot into the brand. But she’s eclipsed those expectations, becoming the most important person on the Tuesday night show. As she walks into another NXT PLE with the NXT Women’s Championship in tow, there’s a wonder as to who will be the one to take it from her. Here are three candidates for the women to take the NXT title off Perez’s waist.
Giulia
This is perhaps the easiest guess of the bunch. Giulia was brought in with much fanfare, with WWE highlighting her past exploits around the world. She’s been a champion in nearly every promotion she’s landed. Some were quick to claim WWE “botched” her introduction when she didn’t win the championship during the CW Network premiere, but there’s plenty of time to build to that moment. Putting the belt on Giulia would kick off another era for this women’s division which has a wealth of talent on the rise.
Stephanie Vaquer
Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia may be standing shoulder to shoulder for the moment, but that won’t last long. The typical WWE booking will place the seeds of dissent between the two women. They have a history together, with Vaquer taking the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship from Giulia back in March 2024. WWE of old would have ignored that past but expect it to be played up at some point. If either woman were to defeat Perez and become champion, best believe the other will be waiting in the wings as the first main challenger.
Cora Jade
Cora Jade made a surprise return after a devastating knee injury. Long before that, it looked like she was poised to be the next big thing in the NXT Women’s Division. She and Perez teamed together a bit with the former making the first heel turn. Now, they are back together but there’s clearly going to be the moment when one turns on the other. Expect Perez to turn on Jade for “revenge” just to kick the latter into a big babyface push. Cora Jade will factor into the long-term plans for WWE’s women’s division and it will start with her being the one to defeat Roxanne Perez.
