All Elite Wrestling has done an excellent job when it comes to its presentations on pay-per-view. While there have been some major hiccups in the past, with shows closing in questionable ways, AEW’s recent streak has turned all that around. Now, AEW All Out is coming up on September 20 and this card is shaping up to be an interesting showcase with several matches announced.

As of this writing, seven matches are announced for the show. There are some that jump off the page, while others feel like matches that aren’t needed on a PPV. However, if Tony Khan is going to do anything, he’s going to pack a PPV with double-digit matches. Starting the show at 3 pm should help, but there’s still concern that this card may end up with much more than what’s needed.

Still, there’s a lot to look forward to on this card. “Hangman” Adam Page versus Kyle Fletcher will be a fun one. Page is AEW’s main character, and Fletcher is someone whom the company should build around for the future. On one hand, this is the type of match that can set up storytelling for years to come, but on the other, Fletcher, not defending the AEW TNT Championship, shows that it is not a title that the company needs. Either way, this is going to be an exceptional showcase.

The women’s division will continue its ways of showing out as well. Mercedes Mone versus Riho is going to be a fun one. It will be one of those rare matches where Mone is the bigger woman, so expect her to wrestle a new style in this match that will be fun to watch from bell to bell.

Then there’s Toni Storm defending the title against Kris Statlander, Jamie Hayter, and Thekla. This match is going to further the story between Thekla and Hayter. There’s a growing narrative that it’s time to take the title off Storm, and while that’s not a bad idea, don’t expect it to happen in this match.

There are some matches on this card that aren’t needed. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage versus FTR is one of them. Especially if the tag team titles aren’t on this card. This is a match that would work on either AEW Dynamite or Collision. There’s also MJF versus Mark Briscoe. This has been a feud going on for months, and while MJF is an attraction, this isn’t a PPV-quality match as well and would be better placed on weekly television. The Hurt Syndicate versus Ricochet and Gates of Agony is another fun match, but perhaps this would be better placed on weekly television as well.

Saturday, September 20, is going to be a big day of professional wrestling. All Out is a part of that action and should be another AEW PPV that fans should not miss.
