AEW Double or Nothing 2025 Predictions is the site where the Owen Hart Finals will take place for Jamie Hayter and Mercedes Mone, as well as Hangman Adam Page and Will Ospreay. This show will also have three title matches and four personal rivalry matches. The following will provide some rationalized predictions for who will win those nine announced matches and any special angles that could take place to further storylines on the road to AEW All In 2025 this summer.
Jamie Hayter vs. Mercedes Mone [Owen Hart Finals]
Mercedes Mone is undefeated in AEW, as she is 25-0 in singles competition and she deserves that accolade for being an absolute GOAT in professional wrestling for so many years, but this is the match she has to lose. While Toni Storm vs. Mercedes Mone is a marquee match AEW would need for All In, AEW could make more bank for their buck by having Athena screw Mercedes Mone here, so that they can book two blockbuster, storyline driven women's matches at All In: Mercedes Mone (c) vs. Athena (c) in a Winner Takes All Match and Toni Storm (c) vs. Jamie Hayter for the World Title.
Hayter never got her rematch for that World Title after losing the title to Storm at AEW Double of Nothing 2023. Her debilitating injury cost her that match, and she needs a redemption that is 2 years in the making. Booking Hayter to return from injury in the pre show of AEW All In was an absolute downgrade last year and quite disrespectful to a former World Champ on their roster. The time is now for AEW to flip the switch on how they treat their former World Champs and regain that credibility for Hayter as a threat to the world title in what should be a big win over an established star like Mone.
Prediction: Jamie Hayter
Hurt Syndicate (c) vs. Sons of Texas [AEW Tag Titles]
Hurt Syndicate has had a compelling story with MJF. In fact, it has been the best storyline for AEW in 2025 thus far. They are looking at a very lengthy title reign due to their ability to tell engaging stories week by week that make the fans anticipate what they could do next. Sons of Texas are credible challengers, as they are the undefeated ROH Tag Team Champions. However, they do not really have a storyline reason to dethrone Hurt Syndicate, especially since they were basically thrown at them for this title match at the last minute with minimal build-up. This should be a textbook retention.
Prediction: Hurt Syndicate
Ricochet vs. Mark Briscoe [Stretcher Match]
It seems that AEW needed to feed someone to Ricochet to maintain the credibility of his heel run, so they called in Mark Briscoe to deliver a banger. Honestly, this lacks sufficient storytelling to even be on PPV, but it should be a brutal match with fun spots. Clearly, Mark Briscoe has no business winning this match, as Ricochet needs the momentum for a future title shot in the mid-card. Ricochet could either target the TNT Title Adam Cole currently holds or the Continental Title Kazuchika Okada currently holds, as he already failed to win the International Title from Kenny Omega at Dynasty.
Prediction: Ricochet
Paragon vs. Don Callis Family [Trios Match]
It is quite unfortunate that Adam Cole's TNT Title reign has been irrelevant. It seemed that he could be the one to bring back some prestige to that title, but AEW has barely done anything with him since he won it from Daniel Garcia at Dynasty. The fact that he is not even defending the title on this PPV is quite telling. This might be a hyperbolic conspiracy theory, but it almost seems like AEW is destroying the prestige of that title since Cody Rhodes was the first individual to make it prestigious. Nonetheless, Paragon will win this throwaway Trios Match against the Don Callis Family.
There is no reason for Cole to eat a loss here unless they're setting up someone from the Don Callis Family to have a future title match with him. However, guys like Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher have lost so much momentum that they clearly have a zero chance of dethroning Adam Cole down the line anyway. Henceforth, it is unlikely that AEW will bother granting them a victory here, even though it is a non-title match, where the champion does not have to be pinned. Hopefully, AEW invests more time into booking storyline-driven matches for Cole and the TNT title this summer.
Prediction: Paragon
Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Speedball Mike Bailey [AEW Continental Title]
Kazuchika Okada is undefeated in singles competition in AEW, maintaining his credibility from his days in NJPW during all of those G1 Tournaments. Like Kevin Knight, Speedball Mike Bailey seems to have been making a major impact rather quickly in AEW after just a few test run matches, where he got some major rubs from top talent. They threw him in some tough situations to see if he could sink or swim, and he is afloat. However, he still has no storyline reason to win here, as Okada did tease a future showdown with Omega, which will be the All In Match that ends Okada's streak and title reign.
Prediction: Kazuchika Okada
FTR vs. Daniel Garcia & Nigel McGuinness [Tag Match]
After FTR betrayed Cope at Dynasty in their Trios Title Loss to the Death Riders, they wrote him out of commission, and it seems that Daniel Garcia and Nigel McGuinness had a problem with their actions. Due to this straightforward trajectory, this match was merely booked to give FTR a victory that will solidify their heel turn before Cope returns to get his ultimate revenge. However, Cope should not come back alone, as he is at a numbers game disadvantage. It is likely that Cope and Christian can reunite, get those kazoos, and take down FTR together in a long-term quest to tag gold.
Prediction: FTR
Team Swerve vs. Team Moxley [Anarchy in the Arena]
Since Young Bucks screwed Swerve Stricklend at AEW Dynasty in the main event against Jon Moxley, it seems that all of their enemies joined forces to have this cluster-like match. Team Swerve consists of Swerve Steicklend, Kenny Omega, Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata. Team Moxley consists of Jon Moxley, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta. While it would make sense for Moxley to maintain his momentum for AEW All In Title Match with the Owen Hart Winner in July, AEW could still set up a title match for Fyter Fest in June.
Team Swerve needs their revenge, and the match should end with someone from that team pinning Moxley to set up that future title match at Fyter Fest. Since Swerve and Joe already had their title shots and Hobbs and Shibata have no business battling for the world title, the best option to pin Moxley in this match would be Omega. Despite already having the International Title, he is the belt collector and could use that gimmick and this victory to his advantage to challenge Moxley at Fyter Fest in what would be a marquee match to close the show and be a final test for Moxley before All In.
Prediction: Team Swerve
"Timeless" Toni Storm (c) vs. Mina Shirakawa [AEW World Title]
It is sickening to see opponents get thrown at Toni Storm without sufficient build-up or storytelling. It is even more appalling to see the contender pin the World Champion on live television with little meaning just to set up a future title match on PPV, in which she will inevitably lose. This was the case with Mina Shirakawa. As great as she is, this shoddy booking is not doing her any favors, and it should be clear that Storm won't be losing that title two months before All In. Storm is the biggest star in the company, and not having her walk into that show with the title would be malpractice.
Prediction: "Timeless" Toni Storm
Hangman Adam Page vs. Will Ospreay [Owen Hart Finals]
When this was announced as the main event of the show, it was quite surprising to hear that since Anarchy in the Arena traditionally main events these shows and Mone vs. Hayter was built a lot better than this match. However, since AEW is allergic to women main eventing PPVs just like WWE, this was their next best option. MJF still has unfinished business with Hangman and will screw him here to set up a match for All In. Ospreay needs this win the most, as he had a set plan with Darby Allin to take down the Death Riders and battling Moxley for the World Title would be the end goal to that plan.
Prediction: Will Ospreay
