The March 7 edition of WWE SmackDown was a fun show with two important matches for the Men’s and Women’s United States Championship. On one hand, LA Knight was able to defeat Shinsuke Nakamura, capturing the title for the second time. On the other hand, Michin once again fell to Chelsea Green, but this time it wasn’t Piper Niven who caused the ordeal, but Alba Fyre stepping in as the newest member of Green’s security team. For those in the know, Fyre is an amazing competitor and there are hopes she gets a run as an individual performer.

Chelsea Green was the right fit to be the inaugural women’s US Champion. The fans are behind her, and she’s continuing to deliver at every opportunity provided in the WWE. Green is a strong example of what the promotion looks for in a superstar. Her run has helped get Michin and Niven more time on television and, hopefully, does the same for Fyre in the long term.

Alba Fyre may be one of the best women’s wrestlers on the roster

While many may not know it, Alba Fyre has the ability to be the top women’s wrestler on the main roster. At first thought, Alba Fyre is best known for a lackluster main roster run. She picked up the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Isla Dawn, but that reign led to nothing other than them dropping the belts back to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair.

However, look further than her performance before signing with WWE for several examples of her work in the ring. She has a series of matches against Meiko Satomura that stand the test when compared to any other wrestler’s catalog. There are several others worth mentioning as well, such as her matches against Toni Storm, IYO Sky, and Mayu Iwatani, that are worth a rewatch.

WWE needs some new faces on television more often

WWE typically leans on the same faces at the top of the women’s division. That is why Bianca Belair stood out as the favorite at Elimination Chamber 2025. Even though the match featured several other big names, none felt like a big enough star to make it to the main event.

This is why it is important to see WWE build up younger performers like Tiffany Stratton and Roxanne Perez on the main roster. WWE NXT is doing great work highlighting other young performers in the women’s division.

Hopefully, Alba Fyre gets the most out of this run. Introducing her in this position is a good move, and it can lead to a run of her own. It should lead to a run of her own, as she has the tools to be an effective midcard name and champion. WWE needs to feature more of its women’s division, especially heading into WWE Evolution II later this year.
