Brock Lesnar is a name that won't come up in WWE any time soon. The former WWE and UFC Champion was initally implicated, and later named fully in the Janel Grant lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE. That implication led to massive fallout for Lesnar, and Cormier points to it meaning even more.
"Brock is on the banned list right now," Cormier said while speaking to another former UFC Champion, Demitrious Johnson on his podcast, Mightycast. "Brock got into so much trouble. I ain't telling you on air what Brock did. Brock is in so much trouble."
Johnson and Cormier talked about a variety of topics involving Lesnar and a potential return. Cormier was once rumored to be a planned fight agaist Lesnar, but that battle never occured in the UFC Octagon.
"Brock played us. Brock played us bro," Cormier said. "It could have been Brock and I when I fought Derrick Lewis in New York. They paid him to stay. He was such a big star there that he could make money to go do that [WWE] and do nothing but suplex, or fight me in the Octagon and I'm going to try to kill him. He made the best choice."
Professional wrestling and combat sports do not need Brock Lesnar
What's interesting about Daniel Cormier's comments is that TKO Group Holdings is the parent company of both WWE and UFC under Endeavor. TKO going out of the way to "ban" Lesnar across two organizations that are powerhouses in two separate industries shows the impact of the accusations he's facing.
These are also two male-dominated industries that typically do not do the best job when it comes to keeping alleged abusers out of powerful positions. There are several examples of individuals in both industires who've faced accusations only to be welcomed back, if sent away at all. WWE has kept clear of all things Brock Lesnar and it looks like the UFC is doing the same.
It has been nearly two years since Lesnar has appeared in a WWE ring. Fans should not expect him any time soon, especially as the Janel Grant lawsuit still remains in legal proceedings. Daniel Cormier mentioned that Lesnar is "banned" and it seems like that ban stretches much further than just the WWE.
