This week's edition of Monday Night Raw saw a pretty telling Finn Bálor promo. The former NXT star sent what he thought was a motivational message to the WWE universe that Judgment Day will be back. However, in true Bálor fashion, it was tainted with tough love and power struggle.
It's been a pretty woeful year for the Judgment Day, all things considered. Through no fault of their own, the key members of the group have been on the treatment table for injuries, and the remaining members have had to fight hard to make up for it.
Look, the Judgment Day are entertaining to watch. As far as heel stables go, they are the best in recent history.
They're almost at the point of 'love to hate.' Some would argue that makes them bad heels, but that's a debate for a rainy day.
Speaking of rainy days, Finn Bálor had a thing or two to say about the Judgment Day's fair share of them.
What Finn Bálor said on Monday Night Raw
In his own words, Finn Bálor said: "2025 has been a difficult year for the Judgment Day... Raquel Rodriguez was unsuccessful in bringing championship gold back to the clubhouse... My best friend JD McDonagh is out hurt... Dirty Dominik Mysterio is out injured indefinitely"
"But it's the Holiday season," Bálor continued, "It got me thinking about my time in Orlando... my time in NXT... about how I reached down, picked up that brand, held it on my back and single-handedly carried it into the future."
"We all know there are no leaders in the Judgment Day, but I'm going to do what I've done time and time before... reach down... help up JD... pick up Dominik... put the entire group on my back and single-handedly carry us all into the future."
Yikes. Sucks to be the Judgment Day right now. Like always, though, Finn Bálor saw a glass half full. Where there's a Finn, there's always a way.
Finn Bálor hinted at the Judgment Day's... judgment day?
Many WWE fans would argue that the Judgment Day should have had their own judgment day a long time ago. Heading into yet another year with the stable seems impossible, given their troubles as a group in the past.
However, the fact that the future of the group is even a question is a compliment to each individual. It feels like each member has their own big thing going on, and they are some of the most exciting stars in the business.
Liv Morgan's return from her injury was one of the best things to happen towards the end of 2025. On the other hand, Dominik Mysterio's injury was the worst thing to happen in that same time period. Those are just two to name.
The truth is that the Judgment Day is a stable full of egos, for all the right reasons. It's a double-edged sword, because their individual attitudes are what make them entertaining to watch as a group, but it is also the reason for their impossible-to-avoid downfall as a group.
Finn Bálor has always seen himself as the leader of Judgment Day. Without outwardly stating it, his decision-making in the past has been about recruitment and control. He claims it's for the sake of the group, when really, he can smell gold. Honestly, who can blame him?
Liv Morgan might have something to say about being the ringleader of the group, so it seems to benefit everybody that each individual keeps quiet about the obvious power trip everybody can see unfolding.
Over time, it feels inevitable that the Judgment Day will split up, or at least face an aggressive rebrand. Bálor's statement on Monday Night might be a sign that the ego-battle is in motion now more than ever.
