The Usos have been very much the standard in tag team wrestling for WWE for well over a decade. The Bloodline saga and an injury to Jey Uso's twin brother, Jimmy, have led to singles success for "Main Event" Jey Uso. It was not obvious when Jey would get a chance to shine on his own because he was known as the "quiet" Uso. Jimmy Uso was always vocal in regards to his marriage with Naomi and their appearances on the WWE reality show "Total Divas."
No one could tell you his personality because he did not say anything much. He was the workhouse of the tag team. It was a blessing in disguise that Jey had to wrestle solo and be "the right-hand man" to Roman Reigns in The Bloodline. He would main event TV episodes of "WWE SmackDown" to soften up future opponents of Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The only thing that he won, singles-wise wise in this situation was "The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal" the day before WrestleMania.
Roman Reigns did not let him celebrate his first singles hardware because of jealousy. Roman Reigns tricked Jey Uso to become apart of The Bloodline in an I Quit Hell in the Cell match when Jimmy entered the cage, and Roman hurting him made Jey say "I Quit".
The Rise of Jey Uso
Jey Uso stayed with The Bloodline until he could not stand what Roman Reigns had become. There was no respect, and he hurt his brother again. The Usos beat Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa in a tag team match as Jey Uso pinned Roman Reigns in his first loss in years. Jey lost against Roman in the title match the next month, but he accomplished a big goal.
Jey's brief quitting WWE and being recruited for WWE RAW by Cody Rhodes was a great way for him to truly be on his own. He won tag team titles with Cody Rhodes, a WWE Intercontinental Championship Contender's Tournament, and the WWE Intercontinental Title from rising star Bron Breakker afterwards. He lost both championships due to the ongoing Bloodline saga being led by Solo Sikoa. 2025 led to his biggest feats yet in his singles career. He won the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WWE WrestleMania 41 Night One in the first match.
The Jey Uso Experiment is not truly over and the "YEET" continues!
There is a problem with babyfaces in general in the WWE. People like the underdog story but they do not like the main eventer to have a championship for long. Problems happened as Jey Uso did not main event WWE PPVs, and he lost the WWE World Heavyweight Championship back to Gunther on a regular episode of WWE RAW. The fans did not stop cheering. He attempted to win the title back several times but it did not result in victory. He recently lost to CM Punk for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship, where he was outclassed by the Straightedge Superstar.
Every week, win or loss, Jey Uso gets the biggest crowd reactions. Jey Uso showing that he would turn on his brother, and they still cheered him. Jey Uso got outclassed by Gunther, CM Punk, and Seth Rollins multiple times, yet they still cheered him. Jey Uso is a popular wrestler on the caliber of peak Jeff Hardy, and they will not start chanting for him. No one wins all the time, and he is an underdog at best. That is his charm in WWE, and his rise to a bigger height is yet to come (if given the chance).
