Listen. Everyone hears how fans erupt in cheers when LA Knight’s music hits. Everyone hears how fans respond to his beck and call; mimicking his “YEAH” every chance they get. LA Knight is one of the most popular men on the WWE roster. Fans want to see him succeed, but that success seems to be just outside his reach. Some argue timing, some argue burying. The debate continues to rage.

LA Knight is being buried

Let’s start the conversation playing the side that LA Knight is being buried. For many, the simple “proof” of their point is the fact that he has not won a championship on the main roster. Has he had his moments? Yes, but he hasn’t picked up the “big” one. He’s had two runs as the WWE United States Champion for a combined 152 days and eight title defenses. Not a bad run, but not one that has had quite the impact his biggest fans would like to see.

There’s another point to make when looking at LA Knight’s performance, and that is his overall win-loss record. 2025 hasn’t been the best for Knight as he’s 10-8 in singles matches that are broadcasted shows (consider this any show that is presented live). In 2024, he fared much better at 13-4. Now, professional wrestling is scripted, so these records only reflect how well a performer is booked or not. If they are consistently losing, then the idea of a performer (in this case, Knight) being buried picks up steam. It’s an even bigger conversation point when that name loses in major opportunities like title matches.

LA Knight wins more than he loses on television, and that matters for something. But he’s not winning at the biggest moments, and that is the fact that fans are hanging on to when they claim he’s being buried.

LA Knight is NOT being buried

Now, for the other side of the conversation. Take his two runs as WWE United States Champion out of the conversation. What is working for LA Knight is that he’s on television every week. How many performers in WWE suffer from being “benched,” disappearing from television, and never to be seen again until there’s a random battle royale or in a backstage segment standing to the side? Knight shows up on weekly television. He shows up on WWE PLEs. That’s a huge plus that several fan favorites cannot claim.

LA Knight stays on the short list of performers who may have a “moment” that allows them to capture a championship. That alone puts him in a better position than at least 90 percent of the roster. Yes, he did take a loss to Bron Breakker on WWE Raw, but Breakker is expected to get the ball and run with it. That shouldn’t mean that Knight has to lose to him consistently, but it is a defeat no one should be surprised that he took.

Fans want to see LA Knight get his moment at the top of the main roster. At 42 years old, he’s past his prime – even as WWE continues to lean on the older men on the roster. Is it right to say that Knight will never reach the top? Not entirely, but it is understandable why so many see him and complain about being buried on the main roster.
