After the September 23 episode of WWE NXT, interesting news broke as multiple reports came out that Jazmyn Nyx is set to leave WWE. She was effectively written off television during the episode and expectations are that her contract will expire. However, as more news comes out, fan interest in what is next for her continues to grow.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Nyx’s departure from the largest promotion in wrestling is of her own accord. Johnson reported that Nyx declined WWE’s offer, electing to leave the company. When her contract ends, she’ll be free to join any wrestling promotion immediately, if she wants to continue her career.
Nyx, a New York City Native, has two years of experience under her belt. She joined the WWE in 2022 as a member of the Performance Center, before making her debut a few months later in 2023.
Nyx was a prominent member of the main event angle on WWE NXT. As a part of Fatal Influence, she was paired with current NXT Women’s Champion, Jacy Jayne, and with former NXT Women’s North American Champion, Fallon Henley. Nyx was kicked out of the group during the latest episode of the show. In a segment she was shown laid out backstage by a sneak attacker who was later revealed to be Jayne and Henley who quickly played it off.
Nyx is an interesting departure, because she was clearly a performer who WWE had interest in developing. WWE, especially within NXT, has a strong and youthful women’s division, so to be counted as a potential top prospect is an important designation. However, Nyx electing to walk away without an explanation at this time creates intrigue in what she has planned for the next steps in her career.
