Triple H is right about the women’s division, so why doesn’t he give them more opportunities to shine?

Triple H's candid comments about the WWE women's division causes many to question when will they get stronger booking on the main roster.

Women’s wrestling is carrying the industry so far in 2025. Not only are the big matches continuing to live up to expectations, but the characters are continuing to draw fans in as well. There are so many intriguing names in the women’s divisions across all promotions, beyond just the title holders. Their greatness is being recognized. Backstage comments from Triple H recently pointed that out and created discourse around an even larger question about his booking.

“Their pacing and the understanding of the moments and not arguing about the moments is better than the [expletive] dudes,” Triple H said during a conversation shown on WWE Unreal. “And to be honest, when you go down to the PC there’s [expletive] five women that are great for every guy. It’s like they come in…six months later, they are like [expletive] really good. The guys are just [expletive] starting to figure [expletive] out. They’re just way smarter than us.”

That’s quite a strong statement from the Chief Content Officer of the largest promotion in the business. It echoes the sentiments of what fans say online when it comes to how the women perform compared to the men. Take observations of WWE NXT, where the women’s division has stood front and center for many of the last few years. The men’s division is surely lagging behind, not just in performer development but overall interest from fans.

The same could be said about the main roster in some ways. However, if Triple H feels this way about the women performing on his roster, why are they struggling to get the same level of quality booking on SmackDown and Monday Night Raw?

Take a look at the women’s midcard for example. When the women’s Intercontinental and United States Championships were introduced, fans were excited that this could be a sign that more women would be featured chasing after both titles. That wouldn’t be the case. Becky Lynch versus Lyra Valkyria has helped change that situation, but it took the involvement of a major name like Lynch for any real change. The United States Championship still struggles to get any shine, for instance, the new champion, Giulia, is off SummerSlam 2025.

Plus, there’s a need to feature more women at the top of the card. Fans are starting to get frustrated that Rhea Ripley remains in the title picture for much of the year. Yes, she’s one of the biggest stars in the company, but it shows a lack of interest in building anyone else up near her level. There are several women in the company who have the ability to thrive if given the ball to run with it. It’s time to see that happen.

WWE has a deep women’s division. It would be hard to argue that it is the best women’s division in the business today. If Triple H sees the greatness within them, as his comment points out, it is time they get that opportunity on the main roster.
