Marina Shafir should be the one to kick Jon Moxley out of the Deathriders

The Deathriders story in All Elite Wrestling has taken an interesting turn. Jon Moxley went from the biggest threat to the company, to a former champion fighting for relevance. He took a sudden, but important defeat at the hands of Claudio Castagnoli during the latest round of matches in the 2025 Continental Classic. There’s a story being told here that will lead to Moxley being forced out of the group. When the time comes, it should be Marina Shafir that puts him out.

Marina Shafir has been an interesting watch in All Elite Wrestling. Matter of fact, that idea was true for her even when she was in WWE NXT. Fans rebuked the idea that Ronda Rousey’s friends could be as interested in wrestling as it was reported, but Shafir is a real day-oner in all regards.

Since joining AEW in 2021, there was a lot of talk about if she’d pan out. Initially, there was fear that she wouldn’t. But Shafir kept honing her craft, year after year. The momentum that started to grow in 2023 has helped her reach the point she’s in now. And it is this position, as Jon Moxley’s right-hand woman, that should allow her to step into the biggest angle of her career.

Marina Shafir is the perfect one to kick Jon Moxley out of the Deathriders

Jon Moxley is going to get kicked out of the faction. Not only is losing on a consistent basis, but the fear that he’s been displaying when it comes to being submitted is not “The Deathrider” Way. At some point, it is going to become too much to see, and he’s going to have to be put down much like Old Yeller at the end of the movie. Shafir is the right one to do it, not only because of her position in the group, but what it will do for her growth in the women’s division.

Marina Shafir could be a true threat in the women’s division. She seems on the cusp of that type of push, especially with Megan Bayne by her side. Being the one to dispatch Moxley would immediately generate more heat and momentum behind a performer who would need it. Shafir may not fully need it, but she could certainly benefit from the push.

The AEW women’s division is certainly gaining momentum, especially coming off the first Women’s Blood & Guts match. Shafir should be a face for the future as the division heads into the new year. Feuds against Kris Statlander, Toni Storm, or a babyface Mercedes Mone would fit as big draws in the future.

All of that starts with Marina Shafir kicking Jon Moxley out of The Deathriders. Once that happens, Shafir will ride a wave of momentum into an interesting run in All Elite Wrestling.
