Mike Bailey is a "must-sign" free agent for any promotion

2024 was said to be a big year in free agency. Even as the year draws to a close, it doesn’t look like things will be slowing down. News broke recently that Mike Bailey is a free agent. First reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Bailey’s contract with TNA Wrestling ended on November 1st and his time with the company is officially over.

Bailey is one of those performers who is a “Who’s Who” among stars outside of All Elite Wrestling and WWE. His catalog features some of the best matches in recent memory, and he’s going to continue adding to that resume for years. His October 19 outing against Konosuke Takeshita is bound to be recognized as one of the best matches in all wrestling this year. He’s also had great entries against the likes of Mustafa Ali, Zachary Wentz, El Phantasmo, and Masha Slamovich. And that’s just this year. There’s a reason Bailey’s average Cagematch rating sits at 8.72.

Bailey should expect to be courted by all major companies. Jeremy Lambert of Fightful reported that Bailey was recently backstage at an AEW event, and years ago he agreed to a deal with WWE. At 34 years of age, Bailey has a lot left to offer the industry, and any organization would be lucky to have him on the roster.

Think about some of the potential matches to be had. Mike Bailey versus Seth Rollins. A rematch between Takeshita and Bailey. Mike Bailey versus PAC. Mike Bailey versus Jacob Fatu. There are several different opportunities in front of him, and fans should be interested in any selection that he makes. Bailey is one of those game changers who is a signing that a company like AEW or WWE must make if he’s available.
