Seth Rollins’s injury created a huge void at the top of WWE Monday Night Raw. Just a few weeks after the “swerve” of his serious injury against LA Knight, it seems like he will have to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Championship due to the shoulder injury he suffered at Crown Jewel. As rumors come out about the planned response on the October 20 episode of Raw, one idea should be the focus. Use this opportunity to strap the rocket to Bron Breakker. That is the direction to go.

Fightful Select reported some potential spoilers Monday afternoon. With Rollins out, it looks like the plan is to go with a battle royal with the winner stepping into the title picture. CM Punk is already one half of said picture, as he earned the number one contender’s position with a victory over Jey Uso and LA Knight.

One thing WWE is known for within its booking practices is making young performers “wait” until it is their time. There are several examples of performers being elevated thanks to the momentum from fan support, just to see them continue to fall short of capturing the main title. Youth is a glaring issue in the men’s division, and it is time to take a drastic step to correct that problem. That answer is Breakker.

The last time Rollins was seen on television, he was laid out by Breakker and Bronson Reed. The night ended with Breakker holding the world title while Paul Heyman raised their hands. That moment should be seen as foreshadowing because expectations are that Breakker would eventually become WWE World Heavyweight Champion. WWE has consistently given Breakker strong booking, so there’s no reason to doubt how high he may go on the main roster. But this sudden injury creates the opening to accelerate that push, putting the title firmly around his waist.

Bron Breakker as WWE World Heavyweight Champion would immediately infuse the men’s division on Raw with youth and interest. CM Punk may be a fan favorite, but he’s well beyond his prime. WWE doesn’t need to put the title around his waist for a long-term run because he’s perpetually over with the fanbase. Putting the championship on Breakker gives him a boost at a time when the entire promotion needs to elevate some of the young men on the roster. That doesn’t mean that individuals like Punk or LA Knight need to be left out of the picture, but now is the time to create the space for others like Carmelo Hayes and Oba Femi to chase an interesting champion.

WWE needs to inject some youth at the top of the men’s division. With Seth Rollins injured, Bron Breakker is right there and the time is now to pull the trigger.
