Oba Femi and Jasper Troy put on a fun main event for WWE NXT and these two should be linked together for a long time.

Here’s an interesting stat. Oba Femi and Jasper Troy have a combined 730 days of professional wrestling experience. Roman Reigns’s latest championship tenures were longer than the amount of time both men have been wrestling. Yet, Femi and Troy put on an excellent showcase as the main event of WWE NXT.

The men’s division in WWE NXT is lacking. There are a few names worth noting, like Ricky Saints, Myles Borne, and Trick Williams. But the depth, when compared to the women’s division, is not there. Oba Femi and Jasper Troy are two men who stand out compared to their peers, and the main event on June 10 further proved that point.

Femi has been booked as a world destroyer. Rightfully so, as he stands at 6’6” and weighs in at 310 pounds. Troy isn’t far behind him at 6’5” and 251 pounds. This is why this match was so interesting. Would Troy come in and immediately topple the long-reigning champion, or would Femi overcome the force from WWE LFG?

Things didn’t look so great when Troy put Femi through the hood and window of the car to start the show. This match had all the makings of a title change. With all the sudden call-ups and title switches that have occurred on WWE NXT, no one would be surprised. But it was Femi who came out on top, but not without a lot of struggle, setting up an interesting rematch that must happen down the line.

Jasper Troy versus Oba Femi II must be a match in the making

It is midway through 2025, and thoughts are that Oba Femi’s time in NXT should be coming to an end. He’s performed well in the space granted to him. It has been fun to watch his growth as a performer within the WWE system. Even on Cagematch, which can be notoriously harsh for ratings, has him sitting at an 8.63, which is exceptionally high for any performer in WWE, let alone NXT. Femi is doing some great work.

Troy would be the right man to usher in his move to the main roster. Femi has been booked as a performer who doesn’t have an equal when it comes to raw power and physicality. Troy checks all those boxes. He looks the part in every way. Just like Femi before him, Troy is coming up well in the WWE system, and a lengthy stint at the top of the NXT men’s division would do him well, especially if he goes through Femi to get there.

There’s a lot to question about the WWE NXT men’s division. The talent is truly lacking, and few seem like they will make an impact on the main roster. Jasper Troy and Oba Femi are shaping up to be two men who can buck that trend. Their main event on WWE NXT was a great start to that quest.
