WWE has a deep roster of talented performers. Fans often complain about several performers who are left off television each week. The idea of “benching” stars has been a talking point this year, with both WWE and All Elite Wrestling having examples of pushing performers to the sideline for one reason or another. Omos is one name who has been “benched” in WWE, and fans continue to call WWE out about it. Not because he’s been a superstar performer in WWE, but because he’s shown the potential to be something more when he gets the opportunity to do what he’s contracted to do.
Omos came up in the news on Thursday, July 17 when WrestleVotes reported that plans are in place for Omos to have another stint outside the WWE. This time, he’s reportedly planned for a run in AAA.
“WWE creative has discussed sending Omos to AAA for a run, similar to his brief NOAH stint this past winter,” WrestleVotes tweeted. “Per source, the idea is to further establish him as a true special attraction outside the WWE bubble.”

At face value, which is a great development. Omos has shown a desire to be used in front of the camera. His last match was back on January 21, which ended a month-long run in NOAH. Before being leveraged in January 2025, the last time Omos was on WWE television was in April 2024. That’s quite the gap in time for someone who WWE looks to feature as a “special attraction.” This comes after reports that the reason Omos was pulled from NOAH was because he was getting over with the fans.
WWE doesn’t have any intention to leverage Omos
To make it plain and clear, if WWE wanted to make Omos feel like a special attraction, the company would do so. The entire basis of sports entertainment is turning many of its performers into attractions that fans want to pay to see. There aren’t too many wrestlers standing 7’3 and weighing 400 pounds. Omos has all the makings of being a featured attraction in WWE, so why hasn’t that happened?
That’s the question that should be asked of Triple H. If WWE sees Omos as an attraction, why isn’t he positioned as one in the company? Why must he go to foreign countries to be a star instead of the company that has his current contract? There’s something to unpack there that feeds into the criticism that Triple H continues to face around his lack of interest in booking Black men as singles performers on the main roster. There are eight Black men on the main roster between WWE SmackDown and Monday Night Raw, and none of them are prominently featured as top attractions on their respective shows.
Omos has more potential than some may recognize. He showed flashes of them during his run in NOAH and now WWE is attempting to remake that in AAA. Why? Why not just do that same thing in WWE? WWE and Triple H need to get in front of that question before fans answer it for them.
