Several superstars have walked through WWE's doors over the years. Some want to come back for "one last run," while others are content walking away how they did. One individual whose name has come up consistently over the years is Paige. Now that she's no longer with All Elite Wrestling, it could be interesting to see Paige come back for a final run with WWE if that is something she'd like to have to close out her career.
Paige is controversial for a lot of different reasons. But that doesn't negate the fact that she has a rabid fanbase and an important place in women's wrestling. It's sometimes wild to remember that Paige's run in WWE was only five years before injuries forced her to the sidelines. Still, that short stint didn't stop her from becoming one of the most popular names to ever take part in women's wrestling. A point that still rings true today.
Paige coming back to WWE is something that's come up in recent conversations as well. While speaking to Kyle Curran of Poker Scout, Paige mentioned who she'd want to compete against if the opportunity came her way.
"It has to be Rhea Ripley," Paige said. "When i was in WWE, we had just started getting the ball rolling with the Divas Revolution. So the matches like the Elimination Chamber and the Royal Rumble and stuff like that was only just starting to happen. So I didn't get the opportunity to do those, at least in WWE anyway. So I feel like it would be fitting for me and Rhea to do an Extreme Rules match or somethign like that. Something edgy for us!"
Rhea Ripley versus Paige in any type of match would certainly garner attention. Making that an Extreme Rules or any other type of stipulation would only escalate the stakes. The WWE women's division is at a place where this type of match would work and fans would want to see it. Ripley is the biggest name in the WWE women's division today and will be for years to come. Paige, who is only 33 years old, is a name that fans will remember and want to see. Two massive stars to create what WWE creates the most: moments.
Paige may never return to WWE for various reasons, even if she "deserves" the chance to get one, last strong run at the top. Will that moment come? Only those in the future will know, but Paige versus Rhea Ripley would certainly turn some heads.
