Professional wrestling and sports entertainment continue to boom. Each week there are several news stories to watch and great matches to recap. With another week upon us, starting off with Night Two of the 2024 WWE Draft, here are a few stories to start the week.

AEW Injury News

Two top young talents are out with injury. Fightful Select reported that Julia Hart and Powerhouse Hobbs are both expected to be off television for some time. Hart was previously injured but returned to action, just to be injured again heading into the latest AEW PPV, AEW Dynasty where she dropped the AEW TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale. According to the report, she isn’t planned to be kept on television in any fashion.

Powerhouse Hobbs will also be out of action. He was last seen on AEW Dynamite where he battled Jon Moxley for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. He was injured in that match and needed to be helped to the back afterward. Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer reported that it is a significant injury and there isn’t a timetable for his return.

Drew McIntyre re-signs with WWE

The Rock took to Instagram to reveal that Drew McIntyre has re-signed with the company. He was one of the biggest stars on the roster that was performing without a new deal. Fightful Select reported that his time was expected to end before June. Additional details of the process were also revealed, including that former WWE VP Dan Ventrelle had only reached out to McIntyre about a new contract in March, well into McIntyre’s inclusion in major angles leading to WrestleMania 40. He was also being advertised for Scotland’s Clash at the Castle which would have happened after his contract ended. Fightful reported the new deal is a multi-year, big-money deal as many expect the new contracts to be, with more expected to be announced.

Kamille says she’s been signed since February, then takes it back

2024 is known as the year of the free agent in professional wrestling. Kamille is one of those names and fans are wondering where she will show up. She was asked on Twitter and stated that she’d been signed since February, but that may have been a mistake. Hours later she tweeted another response saying “Dang yall, I read the original posters tweet wrong. I meant I haven’t been to a signing since February.”

Kamille last competed at Ladies Night Out 13 where she defeated Haley J. Her breakout moment came in NWA where she was the World Women’s Champion for 812 days.
