Looking Back At WWE's Ten Best Episodes of Raw Ever

When something new is about to start, it brings with it a moment for reflection. So before it airs on Netflix next year, there is time to look back at WWE's ten best episodes of Raw. Throughout its run, the longest-running weekly episodic television show in America has had highs and lows. In both cases, though, the show provided memorable moments and must-see television.

The Upside Down Raw (Apr 8, 2013)

Newer fans probably don't understand all the fuss made about the recent string of lackluster Raws after WrestleMania. Older fans may wonder when everybody started caring about an episode of television. The answer is Apr 8, 2013, the upside-down Raw. This show was so wildly unpredictable, thanks in large part to the fans, that it is one of the most fascinating Raws to rewatch.

Some of the highlights include the reunification of the Brothers of Destruction to stare down the emerging powerhouse known as The Shield. There was also Ryback's heel turn, which now seems silly but, at the time, was a fresh face poised to beat up John Cena. Also, how can anyone forget Fandango's first "match" on Raw after his WrestleMania debut? That segment launched his theme onto the UK charts and best exemplifies the atmosphere.

The moment that everyone remembers from this episode, though, is Dolph Ziggler's Money in the Bank cash-in. There are fair criticisms of Money in the Bank in 2024. The concept won't be changed or reworked in any way, though, and this is why. The way that the crowd erupted, ready as his theme song suggested to see Ziggler "show the world," is still unmatched. It is his legacy with the promotion at this point. This episode was the origin point for the mentality that anything can happen on the Raw after WrestleMania because it was one of the most interesting Monday nights in years.
