The Hurt Syndicate in AEW would work perfectly

Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin reportedly talked with AEW. With two more additions they'd be a big deal in the company.

The Hurt Business got a raw deal in WWE. The group of Bobby Lashley, MVP, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin were loved by fans. When the COVID-19 Global Pandemic brought much of professional wrestling to a halt, they were one of the coolest acts in the business. Still, that wasn’t enough for decision-makers in WWE and the group was wholly dismissed. Lashley, MVP, and Benjamin are now free agents and it looks like talks are burning for them to show up in All Elite Wrestling.

On September 11, Fightful Select reported that the group now known as the Hurt Syndicate has had talks with AEW. “We can confirm there have been discussions and even some plans to continue a faction similar to The Hurt Business outside WWE,” the Select report stated. “Specifically, we’ve heard that AEW has had discussions with Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin in recent weeks. However, we’ve not been told that a deal was done or imminent.”

The trio of Lashley, MVP, and Benjamin would be a force in All Elite Wrestling. But what gets interesting is that things wouldn’t need to stop there. MVP talked openly about wanting Ricochet to be part of the initial group while they were in WWE, but that request was denied. Well, now he’s in AEW and that opportunity would be back in front of them. There’s also Lio Rush, who was once paired with Lashley when he made his initial return to WWE. It would also make sense if he was included in the group.

Now, there’s always the complaint of putting all the people of one ethnicity together in a faction, but this iteration of The Hurt Syndicate would make sense due to their history together. Imagine this faction battling the latest iteration of the Blackpool Combat Club. Those are a series of matches that fans would demand to see. In fact, that is just one of several long-term angles this group could take part in. Lashley is a main-event player and proved that during this championship run in WWE. He never got the opportunity to stand in the spotlight at the top of the promotion, so perhaps he could get that chance as a part of All Elite Wrestling.

“Go to AEW” was once the IWC battle cry any time an individual left WWE. As the free agency battle continues to rage, there are rumblings that Shelton Benjamin, MVP, and Bobby Lashley could show up in AEW. If that happens, pairing them with Ricochet and Lio Rush as the new Hurt Syndicate would be big business.
